Guest alfdogg Report post Posted April 10, 2002 He left like right after SummerSlam 91. he left a couple weeks before Survivor Series 92. (SK said a little in his book about this one, but if anyone has a more insightful story than his, it would be appreciated.) And then in 96. What happened? Guest JMTapes Report post Posted April 10, 2002 I'm kinda blanking on '91, but in '92 he left because he didn't like what they wanted to do with him. The plan (according to "The Buzz") was to have him fued with Nailz in electric chair matches, or something. Then, in '96, he no-showed a handful of house shows, so he was let go...and replaced by the returning Sid. Hope that helped. -Jim www.jmtapes.com
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 10, 2002 He left in 1991 (not 100%) because of booking. I believe he was to be pushed into a midcard fued, much like 1992. 1996 he no showed several times due to the death of his father, but Vince wouldnt listen to his excuses (for the money he was paying him) and upright fired him 2 weeks before the big 6 man. Guest Risk Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Warrior may be crazy, but...that was his father. Hell, Vince messed with Bret, eventually making him crazy...makes you think.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Weren't there rumors about his sexuality that some people believe may have been a factor for him leaving in 92?
Guest krambigmac Report post Posted April 11, 2002 In 96, Warrior noshowed a few times before his father died but maybe his father was real sick, I don't know. In 92, he was supposed to turn heel I heard but maybe the Nailz thing is correct. In 91, I'm pretty sure it was indeed the mid card feuding with someone to keep him out of the main event that made him leave.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Anyone remmeber who he was feuding with in summer og 1991? (minus Slaughter thing) I think its undertaker, but im not sure.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 11, 2002 In 96 I think Vence wanted any reason to cut the Warrior, he flopped as a draw during his return. Now that I think of it he flopped as a draw since he beat Hogan. Warrior is a luntic, who in their right minds would walk away from a multi-million $ job twice? Being de-pushed, which I think is the reason he left in 91 and 92 doesn't mean much, when he probably would have gotten re-pushed in a few months. Imagine Bret/Warrior & Wrestlemania 9, thay just would have been wierd.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted April 11, 2002 "Anyone remmeber who he was feuding with in summer og 1991? (minus Slaughter thing) I think its undertaker, but im not sure." He was headed into a feud with Jake Roberts when he left. Savage was put in his place.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted April 11, 2002 I thought of something: Had they gone with the heel turn in '92, I think they could a better match with Flair & *Warrior* against Savage & Perfect. Because Flair, Perfect, & Savage in the same match is gold, and also no one has better matches with Warrior than Savage. So I think that Warrior would have went better in the match than Hall. Guest Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Warrior didn't leave in 1991. He was fired! Warrior demanded a Hogan contract, i e more money, less dates on the road. Vince looked at his roster at what did he think? "I've got Ric Flair coming in. Sid Justice's promos are already airing and UWs time as WWF champ was a failure. People are cheering the Undertaker when he stuffs UW in the bodybags on the house shows. So should I accept Warrior's demands? MwahahahahaHaHaHAHAHA!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!! "
Guest RickyB Report post Posted April 11, 2002 One of the times that he left (91 I think) was because of the steriod trial. Warrior was on Steroids (obviously) so Vince took him off the shows, that's why Warrior returned much smaller than he was before.
Guest hockeytown9321 Report post Posted April 11, 2002 In "96, he no-showed some house shows, then his father died, and that was his excuse. He missed the shows before his father died. He and his father did not get along at all, and were not close at the time, so he probably would not have been visiting him.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Weren't there rumors about his sexuality that some people believe may have been a factor for him leaving in 92? I asked about this a while ago. Apparently, he worked as a male escort (to other guys) for a while, and there was a tabloid headline that screamed "WWF Champion had affair with my husband!". Warrior may have been a bit ashamed to show his face in the locker room after this.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 11, 2002 This may be a little off topic but after watching the Warrior/Rude match from Wrestlemania 5 the other night and does anyone else think this is a pretty damn good match. I always like the Rude/Warrior matchup because Rude was such a good seller. Anyway I think that match is pretty underrated, and I wanted to see if anyone else liked it. Guest krambigmac Report post Posted April 12, 2002 The WM 5 match was good but the Summerslam 89 match is even better. If you haven't seen it, definitely try to get a copy of it.

Guest Report post Posted April 12, 2002 Warrior left because Shiva told him that his karmatic power was at danger if he stayed in the WWF. Warrior left after Summerslam in 91 and meditated in a cave for 4 months with a speedo on. He then achieved Nirvana and came back. He left before Survivor Series 92 when he saw the evil demons controlling McMahon, he went to his cave in Tibet and prayed for 2 years straight. He then had a match where he beat up the Honky Tonk Man and Ulf Hermann. He meditated some more and sent his clone Renegade out to really confuse people. He came back in 1996 after walking on water. He left after his father died. He put a curse on McMahon dooming him to bankruptcy. He then meditated nude in Bangladesh, he came back in 1998 to finally destroy Vince. Then, he showed up in a mirror (a power he learned), he then beat up Bischoff once and used his Warrior Nerve Gas to teleport himself to Afghanistan, where he stays to this day, inciting riots and leading meditation. I hear The Warrior is a suspect in the Terrorism going on. He even send a note to Senator McCain DEAR McCAIN SHIVA IS GREAT DEATH TO HOGAN DEATH TO McMAHON THIS NOTE HAS THE WRITINGS OF 55 GENERATIONS OF HINDU MEN. SPEAK TO ME WARRIORS He remains at large. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 12, 2002 I dont know how you can say WM5 Warrior/Rude was DAMN good, cause I personally think that the SSlam 89 is MUCH better and had more time. WM5 was just sloooooooow. If Warrior was "fired" in 1991 i dont think they woulda had him main eventing a PPV show 2-3 weeks before he left and have gone through weeks of angles with roberts/Taker. Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 12, 2002 My memory of the 1991 was that he just asked for too much money and Vince said no. He has got a habit of walking when pissed off.
Guest RickyB Report post Posted April 12, 2002 The Steriod trials were in 92. That's why Hogan left in 92 as well. If the trials were in 1994 then they wouldn't have affected him because he would have been in WCW. Remember, Hogan left in 1993.

Guest hockeytown9321 Report post Posted April 12, 2002 Vince's steroid trial was in the summer of 1994. The gov. started investigating him in 1991. Hogan left for the first time after WrestleMania 8, so he would not be very visable while all the bad publicity was going on. Also during that time, guys like Warlord, Davey Boy Smith and Warrior were fired\quit over the steroid testing that Vince was forced to impose. Vince was indicted in Nov. 1993, went on trial in July 1994, and was acquited in August.

Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Well, as far as Warrior/Bret at WM9 being weird, I think it would have been better than what they really did put out in Hart/Yokozuna. At least the Warrior could move. I don't mean high flying, I mean like move in the simplest sense. Bret probably could've carried him.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 I would have loved to have see Warrior/Hart at Wrestlemania 9. BTW, has anyone seen the coliseum video called Ultimate Warrior? It looks pretty short and I was wondering if it was worth checking out.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 There were two: One in Summer of 1989 (approx 90 min); - Hosted by Ultimate Warrior - vs. Hercules (March 1988; Warrior snaps chain) - vs. Honky Tonk Man (SummerSlam1988 / SNME Rematch) - vs. King Haku - vs. Greg Valentine - vs. Rick Rude (Super Posedown / WMV / Clips of rematches from Houseshows and such) I THINK that's everything. There was another one released in 1992 (60 min) - Hosted by Sean Mooney - Clip of Warrior's return at WMVIII - vs. Hulk Hogan (WMVI) - vs. Papa Shango (Coliseum Exclusive) - vs. Skinner (SuperStars Squash) - vs. Brian Knobbs (See above, but a little more drama) - Warrior / Undertaker vs. Papa Shango / Berzerker (Coliseum Exclusive) Hope this helps. But Warrior left in 1991 because of the Steriod testing, that's why he was much smaller when he came back.
