Well, according to Officially Accepted WWF Revisionist History, the main event was REALLY Yokozuna vs. Hulk Hogan, with the face going over.

I guess the proper way to phrase it then would be to say that in 2000, HHH became the first heel to walk out of WM as the champion.

Yeah HHH going over at WM 2000 was pointless seeing how Rock won it at the next PPV. But, the worst one was at last years WM.

 

Let's see HHH brings up Booker T's past as a thief, pisses all over the WCW belt when he's (more or less) holding that belt and says that Booker's "kind" aren't good enough. So, you think after all of that Booker the face would go over. But, no HHH the racist goes over making it the only time I can think of were a acist said blacks aren't good enough and then proved it right.

 

Not to mention it was the happiest moment in the history of the WWE writers. Proving that the black man isn't better than them.

 

Brings a tear to an eye to know that the WWE was able to make the dream of every racist come true. Maybe this year Tiger Woods can be the guest and Fuzzy Zeller can come out and hit him in the back with a golf club! Damn racist Wrestlemania last year. Maybe this year, they can have the Klan escort whoever Booker is facing down to the ring.

 

And why is it that Triple H was the first heel to survive with the belt at Wrestlemania....oh wait, I just answered my own question.

 

Won't the main this year be Lesnar vs Goldberg? So, since Brock is the heel and odds are Goldberg isn't going to re-sign....won't that mean the heel goes over this year as well only in a non-title way?

 

Also, I'm sorry for the rant about the WWE. Not a big fan of that Booker/HHH angle and it just pisses me off how they played it.

Yeah, for as good a match as it was, I think predictability hurt the Austin-Rock match at WM17 too. Everyone knew Rock was going to Hollywood and that the only way he was retaining was through some ridiculous finish.

I think it was the opposite. I KNEW rock was winning because the score was already 3-0 and Austin already won the title against Rock in the ME of WM.
