Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted December 14, 2003 You know, after a mediocre title in Vengeance and the pixelated abortion that was Dark Tomorrow, I all but gave up on Batman ever getting a good video game. Silly me. If you're a fan of ANY of the Timm/Dini DCU Animated Shows, if you love old-school side-scrolling beat'em ups, if great voice acting cool story and good graphics interest you... you NEED to give this game at least a rental. Seriously, there's nothing sweeter then playing this game on Cooperative mode; beating the hell out of an endless stream of thugs and superpowered villains. Renegade 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 A fun fact for Sakura about this game. Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa the voice of Shang Tsung in the Mortal Kombat movie voices Sin Tzu
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 You act like there's never been a previous GOOD Batman game. Adventures of Batman and Robin for Super Nintendo is excellent. It's a 16-bit title, it has "Konami" on the box. 'Nuff said. The Genesis version of the same name (different game though) also was pretty decent, but had some control problems and was too damn hard. Not sure about the Sega CD one. The Batman movie games all sucked, though.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 Oh the sega cd verison blows hard. I liked batman returns for the atari, and yeah konami's snes version was awesome. I remember having no clue how to beat Poison Ivy and that big ass plant.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted December 14, 2003 Batman Returns on SNES was sweet as hell. And I should have said NEXT-GEN Batman video games. Who has this game other than me? Who LOVES kicking ass as NIGHTWING?

I remember having no clue how to beat Poison Ivy and that big ass plant. Just duck in the right places, throw the Batarang when the mouth is open, and avoid the pollen. Duck Ivy's arrows, too. The Gauntlet was pretty hard at first. Mainly it's a piece of cake if you learn Clayface's pattern. The Joker isn't very tough, neither is Penguin or Scarecrow. Catwoman can cheapshot you sometimes, though. I have managed to get to Joker without behind hit at all by any of the prior bosses. Unfortunately, I never beat it on hard. Easy and Normal yeah, but not Hard. Apparently that's how you get the "true" ending however. And I should have said NEXT-GEN Batman video games. Regardless, why is it that the last good Batman game was made about a decade ago?

I think you're correct on both counts there. All I remember is loving the hell out of that game on SNES, and I remember it was by Konami.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 I forgot about Man-Bat. Yeah, he's rather tricky because you have to hit him at precisely the right time. On harder difficulties it's a real bitch to get past him without losing a good bit of life. When he zooms towards the screen it's risky--I try to only hit him when he comes from the sides of the screen.

It appears that the Genesis version was developed in-house by Sega. Generally, 16-bit + Konami = GOLD.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 Batman: Rise of the Sin Tzu is a great game if you ask me. I can't believe so many morons gave it bad reviews, just as they did for the new TMNT game. It's like, reviewers SAY they want oldschool type games, but when they come out they dog them to hell. That pisses me off very much.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) Batman: Rise of the Sin Tzu is a great game if you ask me. I can't believe so many morons gave it bad reviews, just as they did for the new TMNT game. It's like, reviewers SAY they want oldschool type games, but when they come out they dog them to hell. That pisses me off very much. Depends. Sometimes old school is good and sometimes it is bad. In the case of TMNT (haven't played Sin Tzu yet), it's good. However, some "old school" games that are just clones of a really tired out genre that add nothing new and don't even do the old stuff well suck. Generally, though, I see your point. Case in point, this asshole reviewer. "With that said, people looking for a dark and deep number-crunching RPG should look elsewhere." I wonder if this guy would put that in a review of a Zelda game. I wonder if the Konami Code works for it? (From Gamefaqs.com) Adjust Lives In options, use controller 2 and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Use controller 1 to adjust. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2003 I love this game to. I shill it to all my friends who have yet to play it cause I've always liked Batman, but like it's been said, he's had more bad than good games. I remember always liking Batman Returns for SNES, but then again, it was the only Bats game I had for a while. I love this one though, I've played it (only partially though, haven't beaten it yet, haven't put in the time) by myself and with two different friends. Definately good fun.
