New hogan theme...

Apparently Kid Rock is working on a new version of Real American for Hulk Hogan to use as his theme music. This is according to 411...

Now, say what you will about Hulk Hogan, but "Real American" is a classic as far as wrestling themes go...I don't think Kid Rock can possibly make a version that is comparable. And personally I can't stand Kid Rock anyway. Why does the WWF keep using him to make their themes over and over, along with all these other stupid rap-metal bands. It's like they think WWF fans don't appreciate other varieties of music.

I love Hogan's theme now, so changing it is a bad idea IMO, but I guess they need the new song for the return of the yellow menace.

While I understand that most of the younger fans dont really know Jimi...and only relate 'Real American' to Patterson/Briscoe...

Aww fuck it...

fuck kid rock...

The red and yellow is a parody of it's former self anyway....

Ugh, ugh ugh ugh.

Way to screw it up, Vince!!!! Of course, I guess this should be expected. Right now they're pretty much outlawing any possible sources of WCW nostalgia. Might as well get rid of the Hollywood belt while they're at it too, then.

I don't know why they're changing it. I guess they want to give Hogan's music a "younger feel" to it.

They should have gone back to Real American or better yet, Eye of the Tiger.  Doing the little things like getting it right, go a long way IMO.  Spend the money Vince.

eye of the tiger would be best if hogan HAS to be around.

Kid rock blows chunks. Did you guys hear his remake of Legs?? ZZ TOP should sue him for slander because it's horrible. Kid rock is an untalented piece of shit.

I like Kid Rock.  There some things on his newest cd that you wouldnt expect.  However, I think Hogan should stick with Jimi.

Interesting.

This is the way I see it:

Hollywood Hulk Hogan should use "Voodoo Chile" as his ring entrance. When he was in the nWo, he should've used it then too. It would have established him as more of a leader.

"Old School" red & yellow Hogan should use "Real American." Of course, we haven't seen him return to the WWF yet. We have a variation of "old school" Hogan. He has the Hollywood facial hair & boas. He also wears pants instead of trunks. Not to mention all of his merchandise has the word "Still" added to it, so the Kid Rock theme sort of fits. If he was to go back to "Real American" he would have to change his entire look back in my opinion.

On a side note: Kid Rock isn't that bad. "Lonely road of Faith" & "Only God knows why" are both good songs. People shouldn't be so judgemental on music. I listen to everything, why can't everyone else? Feeble minded little peasants.

Its Voodoo Child, not Chile, although thats what the stupid ass WCW commentators called it. If if it wa sMike Tenay, would you even listen to him? the guy is like listening to Michael Cole with less talent.

No it's not. Though this board has already had this discussion, so we need not go there again.

I believe it's "Voodoo Chile" and you believe that it's "Voodoo Child" so let's just leave it at that.

Pointless bickering will get us no where, and I'm sure that we could both use arguments such as "I have the CD" or "I have the CD w/ both on it and it's.."

So, just stop.

there's two versions one called vodoo child, one called vodoo chile. vodoo chile has an extended jam session.

I forgot that argument. I think ill just drop that, lol.

mike tenay is nowhere near as bad as micheal cole. especially when he was being used just during crusierweight matches he was really good.

maybe i exagerated a bit, lol Cole is BAD. And they haf to bring a Cole-like guy in for Excess WITH Him.

Rule #! for a failed commentator: you get cracked on bu Michael Cole.

Maybe it will be good. Maybe it will be bad. Who knows. One thing though. This means Hogan aint going anywhere soon. Not a good thing at all. I'm saying this and I'm a Hogan mark.

I don't know I think the wwf is really stupid for this. Real American would shake the damn building with Hogan coming out to it. Hell, even Eye of the Tiger. I guess get ready to get sick of it. Remember My way or the highway chorus every damn two segments last year?

New Music?  Now Hogan won't be able to sing along to Jimi and he'll no longer be able to "chop it down with the side of his hand", WTF!  Kid Rock will probably make a song to fast for Hogan to keep up with on air guitar and will kill the gimmick.  This MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!!!!!

But anyways, who cares about Hogan's music.  He'll get the original "Real American" for his last match regardless.

Damnit...too bad that the Spiderman villians isn't the ORANGE Goblin. If it was WWF could use it's theme music for Hogan.

"Voodoo Chile" is a great song, but I have always wondered, how did it get hooked up with Hogan in the first place?

"Real American" is a real classic, but I can understand in a way how the WWF wants to re-work it.  Their constant use of seemingly only hard-rock/nu-metal bands does bother me though.

Wait a minute... what am I talking about? The majority of covers suck... why will this one be any different? Why are they doing this? Why, dammit, why?

Guest cobainwasmurdered

voodoo chile got hooked up with hogan just because he likes the song and it fit the "hollywood" character.

I think Tenay actually called it Voodoo *Chili*, didn't he?

And Michael Cole is the worst commentator, EVER.  I'm glad Coach is on Smackdown at least for tonight.

Holy Crap!the wwf surely doesn't know what fans (marks included) want, when people think of the orange hulk hogan (smarks not included) they think of Real American, the classic song, they want the classic song, not this revamped crap...on a side note, lets seewhat Kid Rock has done for the WWF:

Butchered a ZZ Top song

Used a pitiful take on a Metallica Song for the Undertaker (thats like double poison)

Had his song "Cocky" advertised for weeks and weeks

GAVE A CONCERT ON A RAW! if i remember correctly this was in Vancouver, man you Canadiens cant catch a break, you pay to see wrestling, and you get to see trailer trash singing

When did he do a MEtallica song for the Undertaker?

Coolest cover ever is that Titanic song done by Screaming Jets.

Does anyone even know why Hogan is in the red and yellow again? I read that  Vince wanted toi debut the red and yellow right after Wrestlemania but it didn't happen becausesome other poeple conviced Vinny that the Hollywood character was a cooler version of the old Hulkamania. So why is he Real American hot dog guyy now?

I was at this Raw and I really enjoyed it.  Of course I'm not a certified Kid Rock hater. I have been a Kid Rock fan since Devil Without A Cause was released so to see one of my favorites playing live at a WWF show, it was pretty fucking great.

Hehehehe...doesn't Kid Rock swear in a lot of his songs? I ask because I haven't got any of his albums...

"I am a real american motherfuckers, fight for the rights of every fucking man!"

I don't care about his theme music either way really, it doesn't really make a difference to me. I'm surprised the WWF is willing to use any version of Real American to be honest, at least at the moment. It's way too soon.

Kid Rock's American Badass is a blatant p. diddy style ripoff of Metallica's Sad But True, and Undertaker when he first began his badass gimmick had American Badass for his theme

I suspect that most of the casual fans under 18 do not even remember the original version for "REal American" enough to complain that Kid Rock has redone it.

I hate all of this Hogan nostalgia.  But I do think that WWf is right to revamp/remake Hogan's song, if they are going to continually push the orange/red Hogan.
