Alright.

 

So no one knows exactly what is going on...(and if they do feel free to pm me)...but it seems clear to me that the board is still here without smarks attachment.

 

So the question that SHOULD be asked is this:

 

WHat do you want for this board?

 

What do you want that isn't here, what is here that you don't want...and do you have any suggestions on how to better this (Your) forum?

 

Post them here.

 

Pm me or any of the other guys with anything you want...but don't want to post here.

One thing I see people ask for is the return of the Porno Folder. I have no idea if that can come back, but if we could keep pornographic pictures out of it, I wouldn't see it as a problem.

I wouldn't want to see a Flaming folder return. Maybe if it's a "One & Only Flaming thread" where no flaming can break out of that one thread. Such a thread should be Mod approve. Although I wouldn't want to see flaming period.

i don't think we should have a flaming folder because that kinda stuff just spreads and infests the board (like anglesault posts). there's nothing wrong with a freindly jab now and again as long as feelings aren't hurt and they don't ruin threads (or have threads all to themselves)

I agree Brian.

 

A flaming folder can be good for a couple of reasons.

 

1.  Any threads that deteriorate into flaming in other folders can be moved there.  (thus keeping the other folders clean)

 

2.  Flaming can actually be some funny and entertaining stuff.

 

Unfortunately....most of the people who would be moved to ...or use the flaming folder...are neither clever nor funny.

 

So Square 1 it is.

I only really lurk so not much to say but what would happen if flaming started to spread outside the folder.  It happens now that topics drift into flame, would they be moved or locked?  As long as people only flamed there only and if they did it outside got suspended it would work but I see it requiring a lot of policing.

I would like to see the following boards added:

 

WCW (anything pertaining to wcw)

ECW (anything pertaining to ecw)

Porno (the old folder on the old board was cool)

WWF Old School (anything before 98)

If a flame war broke out in some other thread, depending on how bad it was, it would probably be closed.

 

 

Dreamer, as you know, there already is an Old Stuff folder. Adding such an folder for WWF, WCW & ECW past wouldn't be good since it already has a folder.

If the flaming folder comes back, then it should come back no holds barred.  None of the "He called me a shriveled cunthair, ban him" crap.  You can police it for post whoring (if it's really that much of a "threat"), but leave it as open territory outside the law.

Here's two more suggestions:

 

1)  Promote "One and Only Threads" for particular discussions.  It's already kind of been happening, but if anything, maybe you should pin them at the top of the forum so that people catch them and don't miss them and then, if there isn't a reply to one in a week, let it float down the forum.

 

2)  I don't suppose there's anyway we can get back into the custom title business, could we?  Maybe I'm spoiled by WDI (though I haven't taken advantage of it), but custom titles kick ass and *gasp!* make things a little less impersonal around here.  Of course, I realize that with as many members as there are around here, doing the maintenence and changing of these titles would be a personal hell for the poor bastard that gets to do it...so maybe, on this new PHP board, would there be an option where we could perhaps make our own custom titles?

1.  I think that is a great idea.  I'd like to see Raw pinned to to the top until Smackdown, Smackdown pinned until Raw (or a ppv if there is one) and so on...pm me or one of the mods on the day if it isn't pinned...I for one think its a great idea.

 

2.  OK...so we DO have the capability of custom titles...and I suppose we could give them out...but there are a couple THOUSAND people on the site.

 

I'll see what the other guys think of these two things...cause I am very in favor of #1...and I could be persuaded to do #2...but I hate work.

The Man In Blak has some good ideas.

 

1. Like bps21, I like that idea. We should start that on Raw. Hopefully we start that this week. Maybe we start with the "Only & Only HHH" thread. Since it was started months ago by Kahran, but went away. Now there's a new one.

 

 

2. Custom titles; This can come back, but in my opinion somebody needs to do something to "earn" it. I'm not saying everybody start a "gimmick", but if a poster gets a title, it should be something that fits them. Take Anglesault for example. Right now if the Mods wanted to, we could give him a "Kurt Angle's Pimp", "Angle's Bitch" or "I love Angle" custom title.

one and only threads are a great idea. we already have the one and only anglesault thread, so it makes sense to have a thread where we can bash HHH and not take over all the threads.

If we're going to pin one and only thread, maybe there should be a seperate chapter of discussion so it doesn't clog up the WWF folder. Just a thought.

Well, Bps started pinning the Raw thread. Since we're doing that...I guess we'll only pin those ie. Smackdown, Raw & PPVs. Make site/board annoucnments here or in the Future of the Forum folder. We just need to keep people from posting their thoughts on the WWF shows in the "One & Only" thread. Instead of there being a "Only & Only" thread, then seeing somebody make a "Smackdown thoughts" or "Raw thoughts" thread.

I think we need a "General Wrestling" folder like the old ezBoard had. There are some threads that don't fit the WWF or Old Stuff folder ie. Best PPV opening, etc. I also think we should change the name of the "Old Stuff" folder back to "Old School".

I vote for custom titles, as well.  Do like WDI - pin a thread to the top where people can request a title, and assign them whenever you (or whoever) get around to it.  Even post a disclaimer in the 1st post in the thread akin to "Warning: assignment of titles could take up to a week or more".

If you are in the minority, I am too because I agree with you.  Some of the stuff in the porno folder was just stupid.  The flaming folder in the WWF section is okay but I think it should be mover into the Wrestling section for more visibility.
