Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Are the following clipped or not? Greatest matches of the decade vol. 1 Greatest matches of the decade vol. 2 Best of the Dynamite Kid Thanks. P.s. If this is a stupid question...please go easy on me.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Hey man, whether they are clipped or not, you can be guaranteed that the video quality is 4th Generation and that the service will be terrible. Try anyone else who has comps available. E-mail Jeff Lynch[[email protected]]. He has a huge assortment of Japan tapes and could make you your own personal comps (although kinda pricey). Avoid RFVideo. It's just not worth the trouble. If you search on the net, you'll hear all of the horror stories.
Guest J*ingus Posted February 10, 2002 Report Posted February 10, 2002 Some of Best Of DK is clipped, mostly the Calgary stuff, and Bulldogs vs. Misawa & Kobashi was a mere 30 seconds if footage, but the majority of the matches are complete.
Guest Posted February 13, 2002 Report Posted February 13, 2002 I have both the greatest decade comps, some matches are clipped but for the most part they are all there. The quality is excellent also. I ahve bought from everyone, don't listen to the guys that shit on rf, they just agree with every other smark and their mother. Lynch is the best but he is so expensive that its almost not worth it. Anyway, those 2 comps are cool and defintly worth getting.
Guest Jubuki Posted February 13, 2002 Report Posted February 13, 2002 Wait a minute... RF tapes are $25 a piece, and that's before (the usually slow as fuck) shipping and the hit & miss VQ...so how is Lynch less expensive than that when you can get 8 hours worth of shows from him for just as much, shipping included?
Guest Kagato Otaku Posted February 13, 2002 Report Posted February 13, 2002 Jubuki - Shhhhhh....I can't hear the shilling.
Guest Tim Cooke Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 "I ahve bought from everyone, don't listen to the guys that shit on rf, they just agree with every other smark and their mother." Yea, telling the truth is wrong. Tim, who has never bought from RF for a variety of reasons.
Guest teke184 Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 I buy from RF, but that's only because I occasionally need some original shoots. When I first ordered from them, I got copies of their Flair vs. Steamboat and Cactus Jack: SMW and ECW videos. The Flair-Steamboat one looks remarkably good, IIRC, but the Cactus Jack one looks like it's 10th generation video that's been scraped with sandpaper. The VQ of the matches on their tapes varies wildly, with the absolute WORST looking stuff probably being their ECW footage. That's ironic considering their longstanding relationship with ECW and the probability that they've got 1st generation video from every ECW show since 1996 at the least.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 I just don't see the point of dealing with RF when the quality is hit or miss (my RF tapes are all misses unfortunately), they don't tell you what matches are clipped, sometimes don't have the matches on that are in advertised at their site, and generally shitty service and overblown prices. You can usually find someone else willing to trade with for the shoots. It's just not worth the bother.
Guest Rob Van Dam Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 So far from RFVideo I've purchased: Best of Cactus Jack in Japan Best of ECW Extreme Matches Vol. 1 Best of Raven in ECW Volume 1 CZW Stretched in Smyrna Best of the Independents 2001 and all of the tapes are pretty damn good quality
Guest Brian Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 I got the Best of Cactus Jack from Japan tape and the quality is decent at best, nowhere near the excellent he said it would be. Turned me off puroresu the first time.

There are plenty of sites that will sell you better quality tapes and point you out to some of the better puro matches.
Guest KingOfMen Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 The only time I ever bought from RF the VQ was horrid and it took TWO months to arrive. Unless you want a 1st gen shoot then avoid them.
Guest fouronthefloor77 Posted February 16, 2002 Report Posted February 16, 2002 I never saw the beef everybody has with RF video,I've bought a lot of old school stuff,Georgia,Mid-South,Florida and Memphis and I don't have a single complaint about the quality.
