Gimmicked columns - oh boy!  There's a winning formula...who's the Bastion Booger of wrestling discussion, I wonder...

If we plan on having a DVD section like the old Smarks site did, why not get Jay Spree? He supplied some good columns and he's apparently not moving over to the new 411Smarks.

I had an idea for a gimmick column called "What Needs To Be Done", where I take a wrestler/valet/angle etc. and give my opinions of how he/she/it should be or should have been booked.  Not a total "fantasy" column, but there would be elements of it.

Ooh!  Ooh!  Let me write a music column.  Ask around--I'd be great at it.  Since TheSmarks is extending its brand or whatever, why not have a music column?

I wouldn't mind writing something for the new site, I've got a few ideas on some columns if I do write. I wouldn't mind writing just random topics as it pertains to wrestling, if i can write for the site that is.

By the way, how would you decide who writes what for the site?  Will you have a thread where prospective writers submit there articles, or would you rather them be emailed?

Although I have no idea how the higher-ups plan to select the new writers...I think the tryouts should take place in the Smarks Krew folder.

You can count me in to be a reviewer on the new site.  I have lots of material to review also.

I'm very interested in being either a recapper or a reviewer.  Just figure out where the tryouts are going to be (and what the guidelines for submitting tryout columns are) so we can get started ASAP.

For clarification

Please e-mail your columns goodhelmet

Thanks for the ideas, but we need them submitted to us via e-mail...Thanks

goodhelmet is [email protected]

I am getting really confused.  I know i can miss stuff but what exactly is happening.  If the site has managed to find another host could the writers not come back from 411?  Or has the forum risen up and moved on.  Would Scott Keith and the others still be writing, help.

We had server problems

Scott and some doods left rather than try and fix them

Those of us who have been at the smarksforum for awhile want to keep this forum going, and we're also gonna now have our own site

the forum is rising up to be a full-fledged site, essentially

that help?

So this site will be separate from the Smarks now? Does that mean we get to pick our own mods and shit?

I can do any of the above.  I'm semi-experianced from owning my own site (and forum).  My gimmicked column was "The Real Kiss My Ass Club" which I posted back at the old smarks krew and was generally well recived.  Basically, I take a look at wrestlers that really must have kissed some ass to still have a job.  Oh, and you can read my columns at the now defunctwhacked Out site!

I do it all, from game reviews (which I don't want to do), to PPV rants, previews, columns, whatever.

Well, I wouldn't mind being a writer for the site and I even have a few ideas that have been kicking around in my head for a while now that I had been planning on posting in Smark Krew before the Great Shake-Up. Hell, if there's anything else that needs to eb taken care of, I guess I could do that too since I have a shitload of free time(getting fired SUCKS! ). So, hit me up on pm or e-mail me, in the meantime, I'll go ahead and send a tryout column to goodhelmet probably in the next couple of hours.

It seems kinda like ECW leaving the NWA.

Nice analogy.

That sounds  really awesome.

Popick what is meant by gimmicked columns?

Thats the only thing you would do right though!

FakeRazor I really hope they give you the job. That column sounds just so awesome.

Well, thanks man, I hope I get the job too.

I can do a MEAN SmackDown! review. If you wanna read some of my stuff, its at this website. And also, if you wanna rub it in for Scott, you can say that I'm trying to take his spot...if you want. I'm not saying I could EVER fill THOSE shoes...but here's the website.

http://www.gwpwrestling.com/recaps/recaps.html

I did all the SmackDown! reviews except one. As you could see, it was a short lived site.

If there is going to be one of those columns where the writer goes on for 2/3's of the page talking about how his life sucks and blah blah blah then can I do it because quite frankly I have enough material to write 50 columns just like that...
