No mercy

I have no idea how this happened.

Benoit was the world champion, but when I started a championship match, he wasn't automatically entered.  It was a standard one-on-one exhibition match between Angle and HHH, and when HHH won, he was the new champion.  I don't know why it did that, I didn't put Benoit in a match to defend the title for a couple of weeks, and I was playing a lot of Royal Rumble matches.  But I've recreated that, and it doesn't have the same effect, when I start up an exhibition match, HHH is entered as the champ.

Anybody else ever has a title vacated like that?

No I haven't had that happen to me, but there are several little glitches in the game.  Some people had all their CAWs erased when they used one in the Championship thing.

And HHH is always a bitch to beat, whichever wwf game you're playing!

It's bad enough him not jobbing in real life, but the games too?! Is he on the programming committee?!

That has happened to me, actually, on a couple of occasions. Usually it occurs after a title change. It's easily rememdied with a one on one match, though, so it's not that horrible of a glitch, in my opinion. Of course, I erased my WM2K saves when I heard about that glitch, so perhaps I've averted most of the problems.

She does have a ridiculous move set in No Mercy, now that I think of it.

Hey, remember that Mae/Moolah has the Jackhammer as a finisher, and Lawler has a double dragon screw, so they're not exactly serious with all the moves.

I figured it out last night. To vacate a title successfuly deffend it in a royal rumble match. It can be the rumble itself or just a fatal four way. After you win the title is vacant.

Took a while, but that's what did it.  Thanks for the info.

It was weird, Undertaker was the champ, then when he defended in the RR, Rock became pictured as the champ, and in championship mode, HHH held the belt.  Too many bugs in this game.

I created a cross dresser with a woman's face and a pink Ivory top with the Headbangers skirt. Then I erased the guy. Afterwards I had one of my kickass CAW's holding the Intercontinental and after awhile I decided to move him to the Controller Pak without getting him to drop the title, to make room for another CAW I was going to make. Well, instead of giving the IC title back to the default champ (Benoit), a CAW pick showed up with the name "???". I was curious so I decided to try the IC match. Turns out I was fighting the homo cross dresser that I erased maybe a month earlier!!! Like, weird...how the hell would this guy stay in the game's memory? I think the No Mercy cartridges are possessed by an evil spirit or something.
