RCW in San Antonio

Recommended Posts

Guest SUPERHBK

I just thought that I would share my incredibly awesome experience with you guys.

Tonight my friend and I attended our first ever RCW show in San Antonio, Texas and it was one of the best shows I have ever been too. The card was made up of mostly guys who had just worked the ROH card the night before ( Muta and company, Homicide, SAT's, etc.) The matches weren't 5 star classics, but they definetly did their job to entertain us. My two favorite parts were seeing the Spanish Fly live and the live Shining Wizard! Just awesome stuff.

Anyways....the real point of this post:

Anybody else go to the show? If so what did you guys think?

If anyone lives in San Antonio I highly recommend going to see a live show. The home grown talent seemed to have some real aces amongst themselves, and while it's definetly not at ROH levels, it was a really fun show.

Thanks!

Sure, I'll see what I can remember:

Dark Fall defeated GhettoKracker.

I don't quite remember the finish, but I do know that I liked both these guys. I've never heard of either of these guys so I'm guessing that they were RCW talent. Both of them were good and I'd pay to go see them again especially Kracker. He was a spot and bump machine. He took a full on back bump from over the top rope straight to the concrete with out even touching the apron or anything.

Some of Jose Lotharios wrestlings students had some short forgettable matches, but even they weren't actively bad.

Jose Lothatio came out for an angle with the owner of the federation. Jose is supposed to be in charge of the wrestling and the owner is supposed to be in charge of the entertainment aspect.

The Spanish Announce Team defeated the Border Patrol in a nice match. The SAT just dominated the entire time with sweet fluid moves. Highlights included a double team submission where Jose was doing a boston crab to a guy who was laying on top of his partner who was experiencing a camel clutch. End came with a Spanish Fly!!!

Homicide defeated Psycho Simpson. Psycho Simpson was a horrible gimmick and sometimes Homicide seemed like he couldn't believe that he was a in such a stupid match. Homicide still made things fun and won.

Bio-Hazard and Blue Angel wen a draw when Bio-Harzard was pinning himself while making Blue Angel tap. I think both of these guys are home grown talents also and Bio-Hazard was very very fun to watch. The actual ending move was some kind of choking move. Blue Angel was on his stomach and Bio took his arm which was already wrapped around his neck and flipped forward into a bridge.

Shadow defeated Honma and AC Riddick when Shadow pinned AC Riddick with a Iconoclasm but without assistance from the corner. I know it has a name, I just don't remember it. The match was very fun and Honma's facial expressions were just awesome. The crowd loved Honma.

Kaz Hayashi defeated Jeremy Lopez with a springboard DDT. Kaz was awesome and loved to use the f-bomb a whole lot. Some wondered if that was the only English he knew... :) Kaz was loved by the audience as well.

The Great Koji defeated Black Gordman Jr. Crowd was pretty into the match as Black Gordman was a pretty good heel. Koji was pretty slow but it was awesome to see him mimicking Muta's movements. Koji won with a lariat and Gordman was bleeding throughout the match.

Jeromy Sage defeated Miyamoto with help from like three different steel chains. Sage isn't much to watch in the ring, but he is there champion. He plays the cowardly heel well, but just isn't that great in the ring. Miyamoto had the crowd behind him. Fun match.

The Great Muta and Arashi defeated Pete Lothario and Hotstuff Hernandez when Muta pinned Pete after the mist and a shining wizard. Match was really short ( maybe 6 minutes) but to see Muta from only 20 feet away was awesome. Hotstuff looked alot like Kurt Angle and actually seemed to have alot of talent. Pete Lothario ( Jose Lothario's son) was pretty scrawny, mildy charismatic and not insulting in the ring. Crowd was very into Muta and Hotstuff.

Crowd was maybe 200 people which saddened me, and the ringside people ( about 40 of us) made up for 95% of the noise in the arena.

Fast Eddie was in a match with Masada. Nice match that ended with a top rope DVD and Masada getting the win.

It was held at the Woodlawn Gym in San Antonio.

Where is that? I rarely go outside the 410 loop area where the malls are and to the military hospitals when I make trips to SA. Was there any advertising for the show on radio or tv or newpapers? Hell I only seen on commercial for the Raw show and that was on Univision!

What city you live in Razteca?

Woodlawn is off I-35 then onto I-10 off of Culebra. I live in Schertz and it was only a 25 minute drive.

There were advertisements on 99.5 KISS and on public accsess. I literally stumbled upon it.
