Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 I don't mean stupid one minute fluff stuff from award show/entertainment shows/ect interviewers I mean actual sit downs on talk shows and such (Stern, Imus, Leno, ect) Mostly I'm looking for innaccuracies, misrepresentations, and general lack of preparedness by the interviewer Well the best one I can come up with is Magic Johnson on Later when the Lakers were playing the Pacers in the 2000 NBA Finals (that exact week) and this woman was hosting (I forget who but she was being hyped as a "next big thing in late night" or something) Anyway what got me laughing was when she was talking to Magjc (who still is involved with the Laker front office) about Michael Jordan talking about becoming a front office guy with a team (I don't think he started talking to the Wizzards at that point) and how great it would be to see Magic vs Michael all over again as if Jordan was Magic's greatest rival. Well it was funny considering who was coaching the Pacers and if ANYONE knows anything about Earvin Johnson its that the man that he is forever intertwinned with was the coach of the Pacers at the time, Mr. Larry Bird and she never brought Larry into the conversation, it was all about Michael Jordan! I swear it was like watching a Jimminy Glick interview, only it wasn't an act! Steve
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted December 30, 2003 I know they're not really athletes in the true sense, but I hate how whenever they have wrestlers on talk shows, they have to start off by re-establishing through the wrestler that wrestling is fake. Like who doesn't know that wrestling is fake by now? Does Jim Gray count as a non-sports interviewer? He's such a freakin' idiot tool. All of his interviews suck, whether they're post-game, sit-down, or those sideline updates during NBA games. Damn I hate him. He thinks he's the male Barbara Walters.
