Metallica ballad type songs

I don't know if these count but Unforgiven 1 & 2 are both songs that I like by Metallica, but I find a lot of their music to sound the same. Are there anymore like these?

I personally wouldnt want to count 'One' as a ballad...given the severe ass kicking it gives...

Orion could fall into the category but its definitely not the conventional ballad type

I would not count the covers for them but Fade to Black and Nothing Else Matters are tops for my ballads. One does not count, but if it did...it'll be #1.

Hey put down "Mama Said" off the Load album also. The country style makes the track.

also, "Hero Of The Day" off S&M is a standout song that w8ill be on my permanent winamp playlist.

ballad or not, everyone in the entire world, nay! the universe, has to hear Orion. IMO, you can't really call yourself a Metallica fan if you don't own Master of Puppets. Their finest work and the pinnacle of their career. Not to say everything they've done since is bad, it's jus the MOP is that damn good. (hey, even Mojo agrees with me.)

Wait, how can you not consider one a ballad, but consider fade to black and sanitarium a ballad? Is it cuz of the lyrics? Cuz musically, they are very similar. Start out slow, then rock out at the end.

Well i don't want to brag but...YES I KNOW WE CAN!

 

My vote goes sqaurely towards the Unforgiven. The first Metallica song i ever heard, and i fell in love with the music the second i heard it, an epic song that has it all.

 

And i agree with all the Orion praise goin' on around here, that instrumental is truly mind blowing, no-one does that sorta thing better than the boys from Metallica.

FIRST OFF, im expressing MY opinion, look up the Declaration of Independace, you'll find that im entitled to it.

 

SECONLDLY, ive heard many instrumentals, i feel as though Metallica perform those by which are more appealing to me PERSONALLY, its a taste thing.

"Fade To Black" is the best song ever, get it.

 

"Whiskey In The Jar", "Unforgiven", "Turn The Page", "Sanitarium" etc. etc.

 

Technically, "For Whom The Bell Toll's is a ballad, and the lyrics are cool so maybe you'd dig that.
