Guest JacK Report post Posted December 31, 2003 I mean . . . do they still clip match's? Because if they do, that's like insane, I mean, I understand the need to hype the PPV; but wouldn't that be best done with good match's mixed with some hype jobs? Ok, and also, what's the deal with Xplosion? I mean, it's a TV show . . . why are they looking for another one? Bearing in mind I'm an Aussie without PayTV and I have absolutely no idea how TV works in America, here we have 5 channel's across the country. When/how is Xplosion shown, and why isn't that good enough? Can someone explain it to me? I don't quite get it. Maybe I'm a little slow (well, probably). LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 They tape matches before the PPV specifically to air on Xplosion, much like how WWE tapes Sunday Night HeAT before RAW and Velocity before SmackDown!. The show's regulars are guys like Erik Watts (whose nickname was "Mr. Xplosion" for awhile, LOL), David Young, Nate Webb (IWA-MS), and Altar Boy Luke (Wildside; formerly XPW). 3 Live Kru also works Xplosion regularly. The matches they show are now not clipped, but it doesn't really matter, because they only last 2 - 4 minutes, literally. Xplosion is used to get the lowercard guys over, and scout potential new talent from around the indy circuit. For example, Wildside wrestlers Caprice Coleman, Gabriel, Masada, and Fast Eddie - all up and comers on the indy circuit - are scheduled for future Xplosion tapings. TNA usually schedules indy wrestlers for Xplosion like a month and a half before the taping actually occurs, so they're pretty organized when it comes to that. If you want a link for archived results of Xplosion tapings, PM me and I'll be happy to send you the link.
Guest BloodRiotZero Report post Posted December 31, 2003 Also, the thing with Xplosion is that it is a syndicated program, meaning that #1, it is not shown nationally, which is what they're looking for and, #2, it is shown in different times and different channels in different locations. For instance, here in New York City it is shown on Metro, channel 70, Saturdays at 5:00 PM. In another part of the country, say Nashville, it is shown on a different channel, different day, etc., as opposed to RAW and SmackDown which has a consistent timeslot. In America we have way more than 5 channels so syndicated programs are hard to keep track of and are rarely ever successful.

But that was a differant time, and this is a "sports event", not a scripted show(supposedly, remember we must suspend our belief)
