A big pile of 1/4 notes

All of this is ripped off Stuart's site, with comments from me. Incidentially, since I've only really been following Puro for the past six months, this is the first major show where I know whats going on, and what's led to it. I gotta say, I'm pretty excited about it

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Item No.1 :

Hiroyoshi Tenzan made an astonishing declaration today after his All Japan invasion, saying that he would shoot down Bob Sapp tomorrow, then go on to face Mike Tyson! Tenzan thinks that by directly beating "The Beast", he would grab Sapp's right (earned via his win over Akebono on New Year's Eve) to fight the boxing legend

Dear God. Furthermore, colour me not surprised if Tenzan's name is on this mythical list of workers who are gonna get shitcanned after the show. I'm personbally hoping for a TenKoji reunition in All Japan.

2.

the signing ceremony for Liger vs. Sugiura took place, with Joe Higuchi, head of the GHC management committee, formalizing tomorrow's GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title match. Liger said, "Although Sugiura is a 2-crown champion (Stuart: He is?), the title I'm interested in is the GHC Jr. belt." Liger continued, saying that he would do NOAH a favour by winning it, as it would be elevated by being around the waist of a New Japan wrestler

Way to make the other company look good Justin (!)

3. Fujinami/Inoki I don't give two shits about.

4.

Director Uei revealed today that at last, the final result of Nakamura vs. Ignashov is almost ready to be announced. Uei announced that K-1 producer, Sadaharu Tanigawa, will face New Japan's fanbase himself tomorrow at the Tokyo Dome, and step into the ring to reveal the final decision. The referee stoppage has caused massive controversy in Japan,

Shinsuke Nakamura appeared at New Japan's Setagaya Dojo today, for the first time since his controversial fight with Alexey Ignashov, which is still not cleared up. Nakamura revealed the extent of his injuries suffered on 12/31 as a fractured nasal bone and swollen left eye. Nakamura said that he felt sick at himself for not finishing the fight in round one when he had the chance, and put away his dissatisfaction with the final result (which remains under K-1 investigation), and blamed himself for not winning

I think, reading the other threads, I'm the only one who really wants and thinks Nakamura is walking out with the belt, but how and ever.

Yuji Nagata has already resumed training following his 12/31 loss to Fedor. His focus is now on destroying New Japan traitor, Kensuke Sasaki, tomorrow. Nagata said he couldn't yet rule out future vale tudo fights, but for the time being is focused again on what he does best, professional wrestling.

Go Yuji, I guess.

Eh..........

Liger doesn't have to worry about making Sugiura look good since he's a NOAH talent. I don't see a problem with it.

Tenzan won't get canned. No one of any importance is going. Look for a lot of U-30 guys to get canned.

I know he WON'T, but I wouldn't be bothered if he was. Incidentially, I've been reading in the forums on Zack Arnold's site, and Stuarts, and the most likely candidate out of that generation is "Worthless" Nakanishi. And apparantly half the lockerroom hate Nishimura (bastards), so his head is on the chopping block aswell.

Your'e right though, if anyone's going, its gonna be a few undercarders, half the Makai Club, some juniors (Gedo and Jado for sure)

I hope Gedo and Jado are getting canned, as well as Yoshie but I don't think we're that lucky.

What the hell is everyone's problem with Yoshie.

Just a bland overall worker. I've never seen him in anything above solid. He's ok in tag matches but much too limited to singles action. They could better use his roster spot.

I doubt either Nakanishi or Nishimura are anywhere close to being on the chopping block. Why would NJ put both of these guys in high profile Dome matches if either of them where going to get canned just days after? That and Nishimura just recently won the IWGP Tag Team Titles with Tenzan, if NJ management truly disliked or thought Nishimura was going to get cut. I highly doubt he would be won half of the Tag champs at this point. He's also one of the most "over" wrestlers in NJ, and management would be stupid to cut him. If anybody is getting cut, it's probably a guy from the Pre-Dome show...

NJPW "Pre-Dome" 1/4/04

1. Naofumi Yamamoto vs. Hirooki Goto

2. El Samurai vs. Katsushi Takemura

3. Enson Inoue, Hiro Saito, Tatsutoshi Goto & Michiyoshi Ohara vs. Makai #1, Makai #5, Ryushi Yanagisawa & Ryota Chikuzen

4. Blue Wolf & Wataru Inoue vs. Shinya Makabe & Toru Yano

5. Masayuki Naruse vs. Tadao Yasuda

6. Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Akiya Anzawa

These are the guys who are going to have to worry about being employed for the next year. The only person who should be even remotely safe is Naruse, who thanks to 12/31 can now be seen as a HERO! for NJ...
