Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 "Edge" & "Comedy" shouldn't be used in the same sentance.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Are you kidding? Edge says "dork" alot! If that isn't funny, what is?
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 I do have to admit, Edge's "Dork" material is pretty funny....
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Personally, I think all of Edge's promos have sucked since he turned face. They haven't been consistent with his character, since it seemed to me that the WWF was trying to go back to that rage gimmick he had a few years back. If he can put a little more base in his voice and stay away from the beach-type thing, I think he'd be better. The jokes gotta go, though.
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Are the fans popping for Edge or for Rob Zombie? Because it's usually deathly quiet during his matches. I don't get the Fed's high opinion of Edge. I see him as a mid-carder, at best. There is nothing outstanding about him - not his moveset, not his agility, not his strength, not his character - nothing. Edge is like what Gertrude Stein said about Oakland, "There's no there there."
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 When did I say "I have never liked the Rock." Simply put, I didn't. I like the Rock as a babyface. I like the Rock as a cocky heel. I just don't think that he should've had to resort to blatant name calling & comedic catch phrases to get over. Not to get on your case or anything, but you contradicted yourself dude. Also his catch phrases and name calling combine and form what you call a promo. I like when someone does the stuff effectively, but the current incarnation of the Rock sucks. Download the Rock's greatest quotes from Audiogalaxy if you want to relive his great moments. I'm talking about his ringwork. How did I contradict myself again? Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 13, 2002 You never specified that you didn't like his ringwork. You said, "I have never liked the Rock." You then went on to say that you like the Rock as a babyface and as a cocky heel, but until now you never said that you were talking about his ringwork, so I was confused. Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 I never said "I have never liked the Rock" I said "The Rock got over by being comedic. What does that tell you? Do you think that I like the Rock? Nope. He is a joke in my eyes. The People's Elbow? Ha!" Which is true. I don't hate the man, but he isn't one of my favorites. When he works a fast tempo match as a babyface, I do enjoy it. When he works a face tempo pace as a cocky heel, I enjoy that. Overall, I don't enjoy the Rock. Why? because on average he isn't in the situations that I like. Don't put words in my mouth. Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 You guys are all missing out. None other than wrestling expert Michael Cole said that Edge is "Fun Loving". So he must be hillarious, and we're all too "dorky" to realize. I wish Edge was "Good Match Loving" or "Interesting Without Christian Loving", but we cant have everything
