World Wrestling Federation 1990:

Recommended Posts

Not much of a backstory. I am going to rebook the WWF from 1990 on. Now there will be squashes, and big time matches will only happen at Pay Per Views and Saturday Night Main Event's. Although not saying I won't slowly ease into the style you see today. It may be several years down the line(providing this diary lasts that long, naturally)

Prime Time Wrestling Preview for January 1st, 1990:

In Action Will Be:

The High Flying Dynamic Duo, The Rockers.

Mr Fuji's Lethal Assassins, The Powers of Pain

The Canadian Strongman, Dino Bravo

The Honky Tonk Man

Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake

Interviews from:

Hulk Hogan

Ted DiBiase

Mr. Perfect

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

Jake Roberts

Feature Bout:The Red Rooster vs "The Macho King" Randy Savage

The show shall be posted tommorow.

Damn it! Now I feel like wishing I was back in 1991 again for jobber matches galore and the MAIN EVENT CALIBOR match of Hercules vs. Jim Powers.

This reminds me I must work on my NWA 1990 fantasy again.

Prime Time Wrestling for the First of January 1990:

Louie Spicolli and Barry Hardy vs the Powers of Pain(w/Mr Fuji)

The Powers are looking to get back into the tag title hunt and face the champions, the Colossal Connection at some point down the road. Spicolli and Hardy were the victims of a beatdown. The ending came with the Dose of Pain(The Warlord hits a vertical suplex while the Barbarian hits a clothesline off the top rope) for the pin to Spicolli. OR:52 [/b]MR:1/2*[/b]

Dusty Rhodes vows to get funky like a monkey and throw 29 others over the top rope to win the Royal Rumble matchup. OR:86

Dino Bravo(w/Jimmy Hart) vs Jim Powers

Jim Powers didn't manage to get the win over the Strongest Man in the World. He hit the Powerslam but Jimmy Hart put Bravo's foot on the rope. Bravo ran Powers headfirst into Hart's megaphone and hits the Side Suplex to score the pin. OR:60 MR:3/4*

The Rockers vs Reno Riggens and Barry Horowitz

Average match. The Rockers seemed to be phoning it in a bit tonight. The ending came with a Shawn Michaels splash off of the shoulders of Jannetty onto Riggens to score the pin. OR:58 MR:3/4*

Ted DiBiase promised to finish off Jake Roberts once and for all the next time they met. Also he vowed to win the Royal Rumble Match and prove that he is the top dog in the WWF. OR:91

Paul Roma vs the Honky Tonk Man(w/Jimmy Hart)

Roma got in a decent amount of offense but a sunset flip was blocked when Honky grabbed the ropes. Honky held down Roma for the pin using the ropes for leverage. OR:57 MR:1/2*

Hulk Hogan is in the middle of a huge announcement. He announces that he will not compete in the Royal Rumble but he is putting up a World Title Shot at Wrestlemania for whomever wins the Rumble Match. Hogan says that his challenger on the big event will be one who deserves it. OR:91

Mr. Perfect is happy about this announcement because he can finally achieve his perfection at the Royal Rumble and then end Hulkamania at Wrestlemania VI. OR:83

Iron Mike Sharpe vs Brutus Beefcake

Lots of restholds in this one. Sharpe missed a forearm drop and Beefcake pounded away. Sleeperhold is countered and Sharpe rolls up Beefcake but Beefcake reverses the cradle to score the pin. MR:DUD OR:52[/b]

Jake Roberts[/u] says that Ted DiBiase is finished whenever they face next. The Snake says that he has a DDT with Dibiase's name on it. 83

The Red Rooster vs Randy Savage(/Queen Sherri)

Not a squash for the most part. Pretty even match. The Red Rooster hit the Five Arm but Savage rolled to the outside. Rooster attempted to pull Savage into the ring but Savage smashed the septor over the head of the Rooster. The referee was distracted by Sherri when this happened. Savage goes up top and hits the Savage Elbow to score the pin. The Macho King steals one. OR:73 MR:**

Card Average:71

After this taping aired, Iron Mike Sharpe checked into rehab to deal with a Cocaine Addiction. We hope he beats this problem and comes back to work clean.
