EdwardKnoxII Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Final WWE Smackdown Rating Rating goes up... WWE Smackdown did a 3.6 rating with a 5 share this week, up from a 2.8 last week. The highest rated segments did 3.7 ratings. Credit: 1wrestling.com
Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Actually, the season average is about a 3.4 so it is above average for the show. Meltzer said yesterday it was way above average, whatever that means. It is a great number with no Lesnar and Angle wrestling, and no Vince/Steph/Undertaker on the show, especially since Vince is a huge ratings draw and Steph and Undertaker do pretty good in the ratings as well. It means people are accepting the new blood of Smackdown as stars, specifically Eddie, Benoit, Cena, Rey Jr, and to a much lesser extent Bob Holly(but the main event did do a good number but Big Show main events usually do). TV was built around Eddie/Chavo/Angle and it was a success.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 TV was built around Eddie/Chavo/Angle and it was a success. Good. Now get Angle out of it. And Eddy for that matter
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Like I said in the other thread started by Goodear, the bumps for the highest rated segments were barely noticeable. IMO, the main event should be THE highest rated segment, not tied with others and only 0.1 from the average. There was an increase in interest in the show as a WHOLE compared to last week; nothing specific was attracting a chunk of people to it.
