Guest ElLocoTas Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Razor was quite a good champ because he drew people and had some memorable matches and feuds (with Diesel, Michaels and Jarrett) while being in title matches - whether he was the champion or the contender. I always liked the sneaky champions more than the honest ones because I think that a babyface contender versus a hated heel champion is the better title match than vice versa. So because I always liked the ones like Steven Regal or Honky Tonk Man I gave HTM my vote.
Guest Robert S Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 The Honky Tonk Man was the best drawing IC champion of all time, therefore I voted for him.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 I also have to go with the Honky Tonk Man. He had like a 18 month run with the title and drew crowds at the B shows. When Hogan was drawing at the A shows. Razor Ramon was also a good champ. Jeff Jarret brought some cred back to the belt in '99.
Guest theWCWRaider Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Gotta be HTM. People would pay a lot of money to see Honky get beat, and after his run was over, he put over all the guys that put him over while he was champion. Mr. Perfect and his reigns as champion are sometimes overlooked, but he did a lot for the belt also.
Guest Haku Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 I liked Goldust as champ. But on that list I gotta say Razor Ramon
Guest Human Fly Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Mr. Perfect got my vote. While he was champ I always thought he was a legit threat to the World title. Remember when the used to make big deals about IC champ v. World Champ? (Warrior v. Hogan) (Diesel v. Hitman) Now whenever IC champs fight the World champ it's no big deal because the IC isn't what it used to be.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 10, 2002 Report Posted February 10, 2002 Huh? No Shawn or Bret on that list? I'll go with Razor, since he was a good, believable champion who had pretty memorable feuds (Jarrett, Michaels, Goldust).
Guest Tony149 Posted February 10, 2002 Report Posted February 10, 2002 I can't even remember Shawn having a great run with the I-C title. The belt was held up after HBK suspended. Then Shawn got beat up and never jobbed the I-C Title to Shane "Dean" Douglas.
Guest AM The Kid Posted February 10, 2002 Report Posted February 10, 2002 It never really was a big part of Bret's career. One person I forgot to add was Owen Hart though...DOH!
Guest ratboy Posted February 10, 2002 Report Posted February 10, 2002 Savage. Good feuds, used the belt perfectly to ascend to the next level.
Guest FakeRazor Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 It's a draw between Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon for me. Both were killer champions and had great matches during their reigns. They acted like they gave a shit about the title also.
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 12, 2002 Report Posted February 12, 2002 My vote goes to Chris Benoit. During 2000 when he was feuding with Jericho and Angle for the title the quality of matches he had were **** most of the time. Plus the title looked really good on him.
Guest mastermind Posted February 12, 2002 Report Posted February 12, 2002 I picked Mr. Perfect from the list because I just thought he fit the title the best. Randy Savage heel also was awesome I-C champion. I agree with those who picked HTM for their reasoning though. The man just wasn't the same when he lost that belt. The belt became apart of his wardrobe at one time.
Guest JHawk Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Has to be Savage, IMO. Terrific matches and feuds. He even made George Steele look like he had a shot in hell of winning for chrissakes. Plus his reign is the third longest, literally days below Morales' second reign.
Guest Some Guy Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 I picked Perfect, but it was close between he Savage, and Hall.
Guest Drury37 Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 I do agree that it seemed like Mr.Perfect fit the title but I voted for Ricky Steamboat because of the way he won the title and he was always one of my favorites. Thanks.
Guest old_mort_wwfe Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 HTM all the way It almost seemed the belt was created specifically for him, I don't know if anyone has matched his drawing power as IC champion since then. He may not have had the best matches but when the crowd wants to kill you and pay to see your ass handed to you your doing something right.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 F*** HTM!!!! Steamboat's win was the most exciting title change I can remember. He didn't have the belt long but he was certainly the best wrestler of the bunch si I gotta go w/ Steamboat.
Guest teke184 Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 I went with Savage because he was a good worker AND had a strong reign of over a year. HTM had a good reign, but wasn't much of a worker, while Steamboat was a good worker yet had a bad IC reign. The Rock would probably be the best modern IC champion because of his HTM-like run in 98, which ended with the ****+ ladder match against HHH.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 I voted for Perfect, but I didn't see Savage on the list. So I guess my vote goes to Savage. The IDEAL heel IC champ.
Guest Drury37 Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 Mr.Perfect physically looked right in the Intercontinental Title, but I voted for Ricky Steamboat. Thanks.
Guest imajackoff? Posted February 25, 2002 Report Posted February 25, 2002 No Muraco??? What the hell?
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 25, 2002 Report Posted February 25, 2002 I liked Muraco but Mr. Fuji annoyed the hell out of me so he gets the ax
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 25, 2002 Report Posted February 25, 2002 I picked JJ Flame away
