Guest wildpegasus Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 I've read before that Patterson is pretty smart and can put together a great match. I guess the most famous or well known example is The Ultimate Warrior vs Hogan at Wrestlemania VI. I've also read that Ace helps with match endings? The first time I really noticed Ace's influence was the Storm vs Edge PPV match where you could visibly see the All Japan influence on it. Is Ace still helping out with finishes? So what matches has Patterson played a signifigant role in structuring? Does anyone know? I always thought he had his fingertips on the McMahon matches and Rock vs Austin at Mania XVII. Can anyone think of any others?
Guest ToddRoyal Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Patterson scripts out every Royal Rumble, often down to who gets eliminated when. So the 1992 Rumble match is probably the best example of that.

What I distictively remember about Ace was back in WCW, he was put in charge of doing the end booking, and things were clicking beautifully. The matches may have sucked, but the sequences towards the end rocked, such as the one that ended the *** 1/2 Storm/Booker match.
Guest Loss Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Pat Patterson has had a part in laying out almost every big match since Vince took over his dad's company. If you're looking for examples, PPV main events are the best ones. Johnny Ace was laying out matches for a long time, and I believe he's still a road agent, so he's probably still doing so. It's funny, because watching Austin v Rock from Wrestlemania X-7, it comes off as more of an Ace-booked match than a Patterson-booked one, simply because of all the near falls.
