Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 13, 2002 This was touched on in the snow/maven thread. is Maven ready to be in the WWF or should he sent down to HWA for some seasoning?
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 13, 2002 They might as well use him while he's still over from being in TE. He may suck, but so does Albert, and at least he is free advertisement for their spin-off show. Plus he has really neat eyebrows.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 13, 2002 and unlike albert he doesn't have nipple rings. that's a plus.
Guest HVilleThugg Report post Posted April 13, 2002 As far as wrestling goes, I think he should be sent down to obtain some more moves to use. Then again, The Rock only has like 6 moves in his arsenal...but, I think Maven has the natural talent to be a damn good wrestler. However, I have to agree with Sakura in that they may as well use him now while he's hot. He's over after Tough Enough, so might as well use that...as long as they don't overpush him. WWF has a tendency to do that...*coughXPaccough* Once his 15 minutes of fame are over from TE, send him down and let him develop more.
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Dammit, when will Maven return the job to UT? He's 2-0 from where I sit. I want a 10-second squash dammit.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 13, 2002 he got his ass kicked badly in that feud. what's the point
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 But I want to see UT pin him dammit... and stuff him in a casket and set it on fire... and and..... and.... rip his eyebrows off to major heel heat.
Guest HVilleThugg Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Now that would be some good TV!!
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Maven sucks and deserves nothing. First off, he never even should've won the damn show to begin with. Secondly, why would he get such a push for as bad as he is? Just because some random teenagers actually watch MTV? Yeah, that makes sense. He sucks. He shouldn't go to OVW, he should be killed. Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted April 13, 2002 I think Maven shows promise as a wrestler, but he's REALLY REALLY green. I mean, what else does he do besides that dropkick? Talent-wise, he should be sent down to HWA or OVW for a while, then maybe he'd be a decent wrestler, but that just won't happen. Why? Because if Maven were sent down there, when he returns, the novelty of being "The first tough enough winner" will have run out. He'll really be a nothing then, no one will give a flying fuck about him, dispite the fact that his in-ring ability would have improved. Basically, the WWF has to use him now, while his character is still hot, even if he isn't ready. From McMahon's point of view... If they sent him down to OVW, what kind of insentive would that give applicants for future tough enoughs? I think tough enough is a shitty idea, but it looks like we'll have to live with it. Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted April 13, 2002 He was better then Harvard Chris and Josh if you ask me....
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Nobody should have won. That show was ridiculous. The contestants new barely anything compared to the WWF wrestlers.
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 That was the point of the show. They didn't know anything, and they learned the BARE beginings of wrestling, and whoever could do it the best sorta, both wrestling and Promo's got the job. TE kids are YEARS ahead of every other person that wanted to be a wrestler. Normal students go to Wrestling school, like the Axl Rotten one in my area. Then they go to Indi shows, Thennn they learn how to set the ring up. and it takes years of driving around event to event with hardly any pay for Gas and Food, And you simply get discovered by a scout. then sent to a Developement fed for years, anytime during the period the WWF could fire your ass for nothing you did but because it would be cost effective at the time to lose some Developement guys. But...Tough Enough, instead of going through the process they jumped 3 steps ahead, getting a Developemental Contract. and because the WWF wants to show the winners on TV they get to work on TV prematurally. What they should do, is alternate Maven. One week back in HWA another week on Smackdown. or even two weeks in HWA on in Smackdown All I seen him do is a Classic Standing Dropkick, that for some reason everyone is respectful enough to Sell for him. of course they beat the crap out of him and throw him into a Popcorn Machine afterwards, but Hey... they sold! Guest claydude14 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 i saw harvard chris wrestle a dark match at the smack tapings 2 weeks back, and i now believe he should have one. he has a great cocky heel gimmick since hes from harvard, and his character would be more than the 1-demensional maven one year ago u were a teacher now your a superstar character who gets jobbed out to everyone. i hope hawk or jake wins tough enough 2, then just come in and leave maven for the dead. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Wasn't the TE guaranteed contract only for a year? Do you think Maven's contract will get renewed?
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Milk him for as long as he gets cheered, then have him get "injured". Bring him back after a few months of training. He's got one hell of a dropkick.
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Speaking of one-dimensial characters, who here finds it funny that they put so much emphasis on "character development" on Tough Enough despite the fact that the winner will be forever known as "the winner of Tough Enough" and nothing more. If they're lucky, they may get the added "last year he was a school teacher, now he's a superstar" stuff, but for the most part, they are nothing more than "Joe, the guy who won Tough Enough." Guest muswp1 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Axl Rotten is trianing wrestlers? After some of the #### I've seen him do, that's a truly scary thought.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 13, 2002 He sucks. He shouldn't go to OVW, he should be killed. LMAO I say keep him as long as he gets a reaction. These shows have no bearing on reality anyway. I met Chris at an Indy show in the UK and he came across really well. Everything I've ever read about him on Indy shows seems to confirm that and yet I've heard Josh has a huge ego and bitches and whines backstage. The editors assign people a personality and stick with it only using clips that reinforce the image they have given them. From the promo he did I'd say Maven deserved to win, Josh was the best worker and Chris was the best at portraying a character. In a few years noone is going to remember Tough enough so we'll see who makes it in the long run.
Guest Report post Posted April 13, 2002 WHAT ABOUT ME, WHAT ABOUT MAVEN?
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 15, 2002 He's got one hell of a dropkick. So does Hardcore Holly. The difference is that Hardcore Holly has other moves and can actually work a match. Maven is terrible, he has a VERY limited moveset (dropkick, missile dropkick, schoolboy... that's not over-exaggeration either, that's IT!), and has no real personality (or maybe he does, I never actually watched TE so I wouldn't know, he doesn't show it in the ring anyway). He doesn't have a gimmick, he IS a gimmick, a sad by-product of the human curiosity that is reality TV that has no place being anywhere except a teacher again. At least there he is affecting people's lives in a positive manner. I shudder to think of the Maven vs. TE:2 "ultimate TE" match that is bound to come from all this mess. Then send them both to developmentals so we never have to see them again. Or better yet, send them to XPW and toss them off scaffolds.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Plain and simple he's just not ready for the amount of exposure he's getting now. I want to see him do well though. I'm sure a lot of people had or have the dream of being a wrestler. I see Maven as being one of us in a way. A guy who got a one in a million chance. I'd like to see him do well. I think he could be good, but right now he's too green. He sells well and is getting good experience but they should send him down.
Guest thebear Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Build him up on Jakked, move Maven there, we're he gets TV coverage, and can do a storyline, while not using time that the veterans could be using... I think he's doing great for a guy with a little more than 4 months under his belt..
