Batb 96 question

This is a strange question but i swear there was an interview segment either during the program or during the pre-game show where gene is outside listening against the door and you can clearly hear the hulkster ranting about taking over wcw and stuff like that but they make out they don't recognize the voice.

I'm sure i was watching this with my brother and we immediately figured out who the mystery man was(You would have to have been stupid not to!)

Did this ever happen at all or am i losing my mind?

???

I have never seen this PPV exact for the Hostile Take Over Match that I saw a bunch of times now,so I don't know if it happened but I bet ya it did, because WCW was great(in a bad way)at ignoring things like that.

Thanks.

I do remember a part like that. Mean Gene says he hears the voice but doesn't know who it is. Then he opens the door, but someone (Scott Hall, I think) closes it. During the part when the door is open you can hear them talking. I think this is what happened, it was such a long time ago I can't remember clearly.

I havent see that.  I have the Turner Home Video version of the show, but it does show gene by the door, saying he heard a familiar voice.

btw, did anyone else know it was hogan?  i thought it was going to be SID (silly me) since he had recently dissappeared from wwf tv (though he came back a few weeks after this).  and why were the annoncers so worried, the wcw locker room outnumbered the nwo about 50 to 3.  thats why you really had to suspend your disbelief for this angle and for me that was easy since i was still a 13 year old mark at the time

I thought when the NWO attacked the locker room with bats was like the most awesome segment on nitro. that set them up as mega heels and when the horsemen attacked, it was just sooo NWA. Man wcw could book when the wanted to.

Thanks for restoring my sanity, I KNEW that happened but for some reason that segment's not on my tape of it.

Can anyone tell me the exact date of the nitro when the nwo attacked everyone with baseball bats, i've always wanted to see that.

Im not sure on the specific date but i am narrowing down months based on what i was doing as a 10 year old at the time. I was out of school so it was probably in May or June. Also, it happened at a Disney taping which leads me to believe in was more likely in May because the park is really popular during May.

Also BATB was in July and this led up to the whole match basically so im thinking the end of May/ early June.

The worst part about that show is when Hogan is coming down during the main event, and the crowd is going nuts, Heenan says something along the lines of, "But which side is he on?", completely ruining the suspense.

I was so not seeing a swerve,I marked out when I saw Hogan,i was like he's gonna save WCW! woo hoo! then he leg dropped Savage and I liked him even more after that

You weren't the only one who Thought it was Sid. I thought it was either Sid or Andre the Giant back from the dead (hey, you saw how much it was hyped).

the backstage attack happened in late july 96 on Nitro.  During a tag match with sting and luger  vs the horsemen.  Jimmy Hart ran out in the middle of this and begged for help, so all the guys left the ring an dran to the back, where they found hall and nash and arn anderson down.  this is the when the famous "rey jr as a dart" moment happens.  That was a cool segment.  and if you remember, rey told eddy that there were 4 of them, adding suspense as to who the next members of nWo would be

The nWo was really cool at first but after awhile it started to get boring it was pretty good from like May 1996-December 1997 if you ask me.

Thanks.
