STAMFORD, Conn., Jan 21, 2004 -- World Wrestling Entertainment said today that it is excited with UPN's decision to exercise its option to renew WWE® SmackDown! for two more years, keeping the program on UPN at least through September 2006.

Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN, made the announcement during the Television Critics Association press tour this past Sunday.

"UPN's renewal of WWE SmackDown! for two more years is great news for us and all WWE fans," said Linda McMahon, CEO of WWE. "We are delighted to continue to be part of the UPN family."

With an original SmackDown! 52 weeks a year, UPN has consistently ranked as the number one network on Thursday among male teens, and a solid third among persons 12-34 and young men, behind only CBS and NBC.

Whoo!

I'm shocked McMahon hasn't gotten a big enough head to try to shoot for REAL Primetime with Fox or something...

It's not like Fox has anything worthwhile other then OC and A.I

Smackdown fits in perfectly and Then we can FINALLY have that Oliver Trask crossover.

Summer Slam Main event

Brock Lesnar Vs Oliver Trask.

Have you seen the other shows ratings?

Yeah, Joe Millionaire 2 and My Big Fianace are REALLY bringing down the ratings...

Anyways, I just want Oliver in the WWE.

Joe Millionaire 2 was cancelled and they were just showing the episodes cause they were finished already.

Smackdown on FOX Thursday would be cancelled very quickly. UPN is the only network that would be excited with the Smackdown numbers.

...and I still don't get UPN. Oh well, maybe my cable provider will start carrying it soon. Probably not though.

Brock Lesnar Vs Oliver Trask.

Brock would spend the weeks leading up to SummerSlam running for his life and getting a restraining order against the evil Oliver.

My Big Fianace

I don't know how night #2 went.

That was just a repeat of the first show. The second show won't be on until Monday.

The problem is, it'll get decent enough ratings thanks to the A.I lead in...

that's a studio rule...Put your worst show AFTER your best/popular show...I.e the 930 Slot On Thursday.
