Guest Dace59 Report post Posted April 13, 2002 In all these sort of threads... I think it's time for this one. For any reason at all, the move, the match, the style, the atmospher, etc. Bret vs. Owen - WMX, Bret goes for a Victory Roll and Owen just sits down for the pin.. just for the fact Owen one and it wasn't an aout and out KO pin. Gernter vs. Cryus - Anarchy Rulez 2000, the Beer Mist was just so funny it has to be here. Lynn vs. Credible - Anarchy Rulez 2000, I'm a sucker for all those screwjob finished that didn't happen here, made it fun... and putting both finshers together to get the job done... plus the finally winning the big one on homeground.. that rules. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted April 13, 2002 A few that come to mind... - The entire last 5 minutes of the Raven/Richards vs Pitbulls double dog collar match. That is some layered wrestling! - Benoit vs Jericho vs Eddy vs X-Pac, No Way Out 2001. - Magnum Tokyo vs Great Sasuke, don't remember the date.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 13, 2002 Royal Rumble, Flair is battered in a corner and Sid gets rid of Hogan. Hogan has a fit and grabs Sid while Flair pitches him out. Piper Bret, Bret's in the sleeper runs up the turnbuckle and falls back on Piper pinning him. Mick Foley vs HHH career vs title after the pin where JR is saying if you're not on your feet when Mick's leaving.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Flair vs. Funk(Bash 89)-Flair misses a flying knee in the corner, Funk goes for the toehold, Fair revereses to a figure four, Funk revereses to a cradle, Flair reverseses to a cradle for the pin. Sweet Ending. Lyger vs. Sasuke(JCUP94)-The blown spot, actually made the match better. As Sasuke looked weaker, and Lyger applauding the slip before getting pinned, made him look even more over confident. Great impromtu performance. Misawa vs. Kawada(6/3/94)-Its considered the greatest match ever for a reason. A helpless Kawada trying to fight back with his trademark kicks, as Misawa elbowed the shit out of him at the end, was very dramatic. Plus the return of Tiger Driver 91. Austin vs. Bret(Wreslemania 13)-duh. Piper vs. Bret-Not just the sleeper part, but the sequence after the ref bump, where Piper goes to hit a battered and bloody Hart with the ring bell but has second thoughts. Great Storytelling. Kawada vs. Kobashi(1 hour draw from 95 I think)-The endless Oklahoma Rollup pin sequence. Kawada chasing a crawling Kobashi around the ring and hitting him with three release german suplexes and going for his powerbomb finisher, just as the time limit expires. Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Lyger vs. Sasuke(JCUP94)-The blown spot, actually made the match better. As Sasuke looked weaker, and Lyger applauding the slip before getting pinned, made him look even more over confident. Great impromtu performance. I was just thinking about this one. Was it really a botched spot? I have a feeling it was all planned. Either way, it was greatly executed by both men.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Bret Hart Vs. Curt Henning --- You know the one of which I speak.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Bret Hart Vs. Curt Henning --- You know the one of which I speak. I believe so. If it is the one I'm thinking of its my favourite match ending too. Hennig fakes a knee injury to sucker Hart in a small package, and Hart reverses for three. Guest BaldGhoti Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The Montreal Incident is still absurdly amusing to me. Probably more amusing than it really ought to be.
Guest caboose Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Jericho-Rocky at the Rumble this year. Low Blow, Head on the exposed turnbuckle, and finally using the ropes. It reminded me so much of old-school Flair. Micheals-Austin at WM14, good reversal into the Stunner. Savage-Flair at WM8, Flair dominates, Savage pulls a cradle with the tights for irony, Flair attacks Elizabeth afterwards, Savage makes the save into a brawl. Savage-Steamboat at WM3, Savage goes for the slam, Steamboat grabs Savage's leg and into the small package. Huge Pop. Michaels-Ramoan at WM10, Razor knocks HBK into the ropes, who gets tied-up, Razor climbs, HBK gets loose only to get tied-up again, Razor grabs the belts and falls to the ring. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Dr. Wanger Jr & Blue Panther & Fuerza Guerrera vs Tarzan Boy & Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucannero had a great finish with Wanger rolling through a 'Rana and holding the ropes for the final pin and victory.....now that is a real heel finish!!!! Austin vs Hart where Austin uses the Million Dollar Dream but Bret runs up the ropes and falls back for the pin on Austin. HBK vs Razor Ramon ladder match at WMX Michaels is tied up on the ropes so Ramon goes up the ladder for the Undisputed Intercontinental Title. Taz vs Awesome vs Tanaka for the ECW title Awesome wins starting a new era in Phily every clean pin is usually good
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The 1st fall i think it was of the steamboat/flair match at clash 6(greatest...match...ever) where steamboat has him in the chicken wing. it was just sooo strange to see ric submit flair/sting GAB90. the figure four rollup is brilliant. Guest Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Bret vs Owen in a cage when Owen gets his ankle caught and gets hung upside down as Bret climbs down and wins. Follow that up with Anvil and Owen locking Bret in the cage and beating on him while the entire Hart family tries to climb in. Also, Survivor Series 98 with Rock vs Mankind where they mocked the screwjob from the 97 Series. Classic.

Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Breakdown-Mankind vs. Shamrock vs. Rock Cage Match Mankind hits a devestating move on Shamrock, I believe a double amr DDT, and begins to climb. But just as he's about to touch the floor Rock simply rolls on top of Shamrock for the win.
Guest DEEP THOUGHT Report post Posted April 14, 2002 WWF Title match at SummerSlam '97 ...Terrific ending. Bret Hart keeps his heat as a heel, and a new feud is born between Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker. WWF Title match at the 1996 Survivor Series I don't know..I guess I enjoyed seeing Shawn Michaels actually job a title in the ring rather than forfeit it. Oh yeah, and the huge face pop for the supposed heel Sid along with the stunned silence from the commentators.
Guest Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The finish to the Austin/Owen Summerslam '97 IC title match. Just the presence of mind for Owen to have Austin pin him in the state Austin was in is impressive.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Bret Hart vs. Curt Hennig for the Intercontinental Championship (I forget which PPV, Summerslam '90 maybe?) - Curt drops a leg on Bret's groin. He tries a second, but Bret catches the leg before it hits and finagles his way into the sharpshooter for the submission and his first IC reign. I believe Curt's back was really hurt by this point, but carried on 'til the end. The Rockers vs. Orient Express (opening match for Royal Rumble '91 I think... the one where Warrior loses the World title to Sgt. Slaughter) - Kato slingshots Jannetty into a chop by Tanaka. They set up the spot again, but Michaels stuns Tanaka with a gutshot, and then hits Kato, which triggers a slingshot sunset flip by Jannetty into a bent-over Tanaka for the win. Magnum TA vs. Tully Blanchard, I Quit/Cage match (one of the late 80s Starcades maybe?_ - Baby Doll throws a wooden chair into the cage. Blanchard splinters it and tries to drive one of the shards into Magnum's face. Magnum somehow gets out of it, and in one of the sickest displays I've ever seen, drives the stake into Blanchard's forehead. I'm sure it was faked, but Blanchard's forehead just started oozing with blood. At that point, the poor bastard yells "I QUIT! I QUIT!" into the mike and Magnum TA wins. (I really need to brush up on my PPV dates...)
Guest Report post Posted April 14, 2002 WM3, Harts & Danny Davis Vs Bulldogs & Tito Santana. Great match all the way through. Just think who were in the match, Enough said. At the end, all 6 guys, add 7 with Jimmy Hart, are fighting and Danny Davis gets the pin over someone. (I don't feel like looking at the tape) At this time, everyone thought Davis would get his ass kicked in there and would probably lose the match for the Hart Foundation. Okay, I forgot when and where this happen. I know it was a PPV and I don't even remember who Hollywood Hogan defeated. I just remember the nWo was leaving the ring and Sting FINALLY re-debuted and came down from the ceiling and cleaned house with the baseball bat. It was awesome because, it was over a year since we seen Sting do anything and the crowd just went Ape Shit. The First, Hell In the Cell. Michaels Vs Taker. I still think this was the best, pound for pound, Cell match. Well, Foley and Triple H is arguable. Anyway, these two told a great story in this match and the last 10 minutes of it looked like HBK was dead in there. Shawn looked like he was finished and then KANE Debuts and costs Taker the Match. But, the best part of all this, the winner of this match was going to Survivor Series to face the Champion, Bret Hart. We were finally going to get to see Bret Vs Shawn again. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted April 14, 2002 I can tell you one of my most favorite and least favorite.. Benoit vs. Rocky at Fully loaded 2000. Benoit wins the belt! I mark like a bitch! Then Foley (who I idolized for years), reverses the decision. I never liked Mick much after that.
Guest Special K Report post Posted April 14, 2002 There's a number if them.... Magnum/Blanchard WAS awesome. Blew me away 1st time I saw it. Harts WMX, for reasons everyone's mentioned. Misawa Kawada 94, again for reasons everyone's mentioned Two of my favorite's because they are both good finishes, and vary emotional: HHH/Foley, HIaC, I liked Rumble better overall, but the finish, as Folet just wouldn't go down, and his teary farewell, are great. Eddy/Deano, 2/3 falls, last ECW match for both. The only time I can remember a double pin that I really loved, as the draw match, to a feud which had seen them trade wins and losses evenly, with the fans chanting 'Please don't go' and the emotional speeches by both, (yes, even Dean!) are really wonderful, and are the epitome to me of why I miss ECW. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 14, 2002 My two favorite types of match finishes are when someone passes out because of pian after a long bout against a submission hold, Austin/Bret Or when there is a big 6-10 man tag match when all chaos breaks loose and EVERYONE hits their finishers in a fast paced and crowd popping manner (Some Raw last year) I'm pretty sure it involved Big Show, Gunn, Acolytes, etc. Anyone know that match I'm talking about? Guest gwf0704 Report post Posted April 15, 2002 1)Goldberg defeats Hogan for World Title at the Georgia Dome! 2)Flair wins '92 Royal Rumble for World Title. 3)Survivor Series (dont know what year but Slaughter supports Iraq) when its Dibiase over B Hart as the lone survivors and for Dibiase to get the pin cleanly on a momentum rollover is pretty cool
Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Jericho pulling Chyna back into the middle of the ring for the tapout and first Intercontinental Championship at Armageddon '99 Austin/Bret at Wrestlemania 13......one of my favorite WWF matches ever Both Steamboat/Savage Andre/Hogan at Wrestlemania III HHH/Cactus Jack at No WAy Out 2000 (HIAC) Austin/Dude Love (I think at Over the Edge '98 or the April PPV...just great storytelling) Austin/Dude vs. Owen/Bulldog- RAW '97 (Austin/Dude win Tag belts-featured in the bonus footage on Beyond the Mat) Jericho beating the Rock at Vengance...becomes the first man to unify the WWF and WCW (oh, excuse me, I mean the "*World*" Title) World Heavyweight Championship ...and like everyone here, I'm sure there are a there are a TON of others as well. Yeah, I DEFINATELY AGREE on the Vengance one (I have it on my list as well.) We were listening to Vengance down at Rutgers (the sound came through fine, but the picture was scrambled since us poor college kids sure as hell weren't going to plunk $40 down, and since audio= $0, we were more than content just to listen), and when we heard what was going on and "Jericho on top...1,2,..3!!!" or whatever was said, we all jumped off the couch and were screaming for like 2-3 minutes. We then broke out into a 1-minute standing ovation for THE MAN. Joe P.
