Guest Kinetic Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 I'm putting myself on warning right now, because I can't seem to control my urge to buy music when given the opportunity. My vow to myself, all of you, and my dwindling bank account is that I shall not buy another album for two weeks. Well, other than the new Costello. I've already pre-ordered Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, so I'm in the clear on that one. Other than that...two weeks! Here's what my final day of CD shopping for that period yielded: Big Star- #1 Record/Radio City Bob Dylan- John Wesley Harding Spoon- A Series of Sneaks Kinks- Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround Don Caballero- For Respect Sugar- If I Can't Change Your Mind single Psychedelic Furs- Book of Days That's $58 that I don't really have.
Guest Anorak Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 The new Wilco album is next on my 'must get' list as well.
Guest goodhelmet Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 Big Star- #1 Record/Radio City Kinks- Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround Two of the best cd's EVER!!!! Big Star is criminally overlooked and Lola is the Kinks best album without a doubt!
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 i got Fumanchu" California Rolling" and Blind Melon "Soup" last night and they are sooo awesome. Fumanchu is an awesome stoner band and Blind Melon is one of the greatest bands of all time IMO.
Guest JerryDrake Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 Yall need a CD burner, saves money. I get friends to burn me all the cds i want for free.
Guest Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 I got two CDs yesterday, both of which rock. Lost Prophets- The Fake Sound of Progress Candiria- Process of Self Development
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 15, 2002 Report Posted April 15, 2002 Burnt cds dont sound as good and all my friends cheat me out of them.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Big Star are fantastic. September Gurls is one of my favourite tracks ever.
Guest Choken One Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 There's no pride in burning you cd's, you paid 10-16 bucks for them and you set them on fire? that;s crazy. If you don't like them take it to a used Cd store.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Last night, I got... Camp Kill Yourself - Volume 1 Motörhead - Hammered Shadows Fall - Somber Eyes To The Sky All kick ass, and Motörhead still kicks ass after over 1/4 of a century together.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 21, 2002 Report Posted April 21, 2002 Friday, i bought Apex Theroy "Topsy Turvy" and Phantom Planet "The guest" AWESOME CDS~!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 Eh, why not. While I didn't buy any of these albums, I did obtain them due to my writing the music column in the school paper: Lisa Loeb - Cake and Pie ...And You Will Know us by The Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes Simple Plan - No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls Greenwheel - Soma Holiday Unwritten Law - Elva (edited version?! boooo!) Soluna - Soluna Probably nothing anyone around here will appreciate, but at least I didn't have to pay for it. The last CD's I bought were: VA - Japan for Sale Vol. 2 The Kinks - One for the Road Plus I had my friend get me the Green Day import EP Tune in Tokyo when she went there over spring break. Still gotta pay her back for that, but it's $10 vs. $30 if I was gonna import it myself. Why are imports so damned costly? Oh, I know, because by virtue of them being something I want, they're not available in America
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 I almost bought "Elva" at walmart until i spotted the AMENDED at the top. stupid walmart...
