Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Ok funny story tonight....me and my friend went to the video store to rent some wrestling videos. With my sick sense of humor I figured we'd get Hulkamania 6 to give it a good MST2K job. We also got Slamboree 98 thinking it'd be awful but it was actually pretty good with Jericho introducing the Cruisers being the highlight. Well we put in Hulkamania 6 and man did it blow. Hogan has not changed in all these years. It wasn't even funny bad....it was just bad. Has anybody else gone through there old Hogan videos? If so have you noticed how the guy has not evolved his style at all and has basically been doing the same thing for 20 years!? I just don't get it....another part of the Hogan enigma. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 14, 2002 yeah i was watching some of the hogan crap the other night. the only way i can tell the difference between hogan of theen and hogan of now is that he has more wrinkles. and there's no Mean Gene. The only thing i liked about hogan wrestling was The Brain's hatred of him.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Was Hulkamania 6 the tape with Hogan vs Stan Hansen from the NJPW-AJPW-WWF interpromotional card in 1990? If so, then I have seen that tape, and apart from that match the tape was horrible, I couldn't even sit through the entire tape, but I only paid what we be about $3 for it, so it was worth getting just for Hogan/Hansen, which, along with the WM V match against Savage and the cage match against Flair at Halloween Havoc in 1994 and maybe the WM VI match against the Warrior, is the pretty much the only good singles match I have ever seen him have. And yeah, 99% of the time, Hogan has more or less wrestled the same way for his entire career (in many cases it's almost like watching the same match). Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 14, 2002 I didn't think the match with Hansen was very good at all. It was all Hogan and Hansen brawling around the ring. And Hogan beat Hansen up most of the time while the announcers put over the fact that Hogan was better than the Japanese hero's.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Upon viewing it a little more....I wonder......how did Hogan get so over!? Jeez the guy wrestled the same damn match each and every time he went out there!
Guest ArkhamGlobe Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I didn't think it was that good either on first viewing, but it kind of grew on me, more and more each time I watched it. I haven't watched it in a while, but I seem to remember it being built rather well. I need to rewatch it, to see what it was I liked about it (outside of Hansen pounding the crap out of Hogan when he was on offense ).
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Hogan had a really good match with Muta in Japan once - if memory serves, he even pulled out a top rope crossbody. I couldn't quite beleive it was Hogan I was watching... Other than that... yeah, it's pretty much only the opponents who change from match to match...
