Ok I think it's time I buy a new tape from Jeff Lynch. So far I've gotten the awesome Flair/Steamboat series from him. And then I decided I was ready for the Japanese realm. But all I have is Super J Cup 94/95 and M-Pro These Days(thanks Brian).

I was about to jump into the AJPW Heavies but I decided that I'm not ready for it. I crave more Junior action.

I was wondering if anybody had any Junior recommendations though. I was thinking of something that showcases the best talent or something that has a really bomb match.

BTW I'm looking for something more obscure than the obvious JCrown 96 which I plan on buying with whatever good is recommended.

Get some New Japan TV.  Lots of awesome Jrs. work in '96.  I'd get:

2/3/96 (taped 1/29) - Samurai vs. Ohtani

3/30/96 (taped 3/17) - Liger vs. Ohtani

5/4/96 (taped 4/29) - Liger vs. Sasuke

6/10/96 - Eddy vs. Ohtani

6/22/96 - Eddy vs. Benoit, Liger vs. Samurai

6/29/96 - Eddy vs. Liger

I would recommend the 2/97 TV with the other Liger vs. Ohtani, but it's full on a commercial tape, so I'd go after that.  But, you've got 6 hours of TV right there that has some good action.

I was looking at the M-Pro selection over at TripleCrownTapes. If someone could mosey over and take a gander then come back and tell me which is the best one to start with I'd be very grateful. They all look awesome. After I got These Days I've been craving M-Pro. I think M-Pro may be my favorite wrestling organization....it just rules so much.

Here's a suggestion, but first let me explain....

I've been watching wrestling since about late 1992-1993, but didn't discover what truly "great" wrestling was until 1999 when I started buying puroresu tapes.  Since then I've collected tons of matches, from lots of companies.  I've seen the Misawa-Kawada and Misawa-Kobashi wars and all the famous tag matches from AJPW. I've seen Jumbo crush Misawa and Kobashi have the greatest year ever in 1993.  I've seen some of the greatest Jr. Heavyweights ever in Liger, Benoit, Ohtani, etc have incredible matches.  I've also started collecting as many Joshi matches and shows as possible in the last 6 months.  I've seen a lot of great shows, such as Dreamslam I & II.

But there are some things in wrestling that have that "extra" something special.  Of course, for different people, it's going to be different matches.  But while this has varied at times for me, right now I can clearly say that if you took every wrestling match away from me and let me only keep one, it would be this match:

Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada vs. Dynamite Kansai & Mayumi Ozaki, November 26, 1992, AJW Dream Rush.

Just a thought.
