Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The DDT. That move used to be awesome, now everyone uses it. I think I saw Judy Bagwell bust it out one time.

Guest Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Spear:Edge HHH, Austin, and the divas use versions of it too. I forgot to list it on my first post. True, but they don't do it 750 times a match.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Whoa! AngleSault has an Army now. Edge does overuse the Spear. As a matter of fact I don't think he should use it at all, he's too skinny to make it look painful IMO.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Rhyno is the only one who should use the Spear. Edge is better without it.

Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The damned superkick. HBK's version would be so watered down now, IMO because so many people used it especially during the Invasion. It was EVERYONE in the WCW/ECW's finsiher! WTF! Chuck, Credible, Storm, Hurricane, Booker, etc. You could not watch a show without seeing that damn kick. Pisses me off. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 14, 2002 I beleive they began to refer to it as the WCW Superkick.
Guest Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Not so much in the WWF but if I see one more 300+ pounder do a shooting star press I'm going to stop going to Indies.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted April 14, 2002 The DDT has lost it's impact a bit, but is still the ideal transition move. Spinebusters have been done to death. The powerbomb should only be a finisher. It's just a cool move, and even nash ans sid got over with it. Only cruisers should do it as a more regular thing. Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 14, 2002 Using an opponents finisher against them. It was cool when it started, but enough is enough, especially if the guy can't do the move right, Austin's Olympic Slam is awful.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 15, 2002 too many people use the Ace Crusher, only DDP and Austin should use it......Matt Hardy & Lita get a clue!!!! too many luchadores use the reverse surfboard move - Super Crazy has the best version.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I think the sleeper is making an unwelcome comeback. Superplexes seem to be used too much as well.
Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 The DDT's apparently become the mandatory face move, so it gets overused a lot. Chops are like punches, good in moderation in a match. Spinebusters should only be busted out by actual wrestlers, not brawlers - Trips, Benoit, Angle - but it seems the brawlers adapt it to look more proficient. Angle's basically killing any effect the Germans had, and I don't see why he can suplex up a storm, but Taz isn't allowed to. HEIGHT DISCRIM! Anyways. The flying forearm is getting a bit overused now.
Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 The chokeslam: Undertaker, Kane, Big Slow, even goddamn Huricane does it as a joke! Plus HHH has his incredibly lame choke takedown and Hogan has his horrible looking choke when his opponent is on the ground. That's just way to many using chokes! Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 15, 2002 and I don't see why he can suplex up a storm, but Taz isn't allowed to. HEIGHT DISCRIM! Would you trust 4'5 Tazz to throw you around?
Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Big men use chokeslams. That's it. It's only used about once a match, and to just destroy people. That's not being overused, it'd be overused if it was used at least twice in a match and by more than four wrestlers. I haven't seen a problem, anyway, and I just love the HHH bashing dribbling over. Gimme a break, the choke takedown is good, if somewhat awkward.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Hall and Nash both have ridiculously bad chokeslams. If you remember during the final days of WCW, around the time Sid went down, Nash began doing a very lazy chokeslam that was good for a hearty laugh. Hall was probably one of the first to use it all the time, but he just fell with them and it looks really goofy now that the powerhouses use such elevation and force. So the list of people would be Kane, Taker, Show, Nash, Hall and Si if he ever wrestlers again ( Hurricane too I guess) Too many chokeslams.
Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 When was the last time Hall used it on WWF TV? When was the last time Nash actually did a MOVE on WWF TV? When was the last time Sid was ON WWF TV?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I don't know about you guys but I'm getting tired of seeing everyone use those damn Tiger Driver 91's and Burning Hammers! And what's with the repeated use of the Dragon Suplex....I mean come on! It was cool when like one person did it not the whole roster! Oh wait...those are moves I wish someone would bust out..... Guest Report post Posted April 16, 2002 What about the insane amount of submissions that are used but the wrestler always makes it to the ropes. Submissions don't seem to mean as much anymore. Jericho will but the Walls of Jericho on the Rock (for example) for about 2 mins in the middle of a match... but the Rock will make it to the ropes but towards the end of a match he puts it on and he taps out in 30 secs. A finisher is supposed to FINISH the match and I think it gets watered down by seeing 4 Rock Bottoms in a match before a pin-fall.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted April 16, 2002 The idea of submission finishers is that they wear the opponent down. Continuing the Rock/Jericho example, If the Rock has been in the Walls already for two minutes, when it's put on a second time his back would be worn down and still hurting from the first attempt, hence a wrestler is more likely to tap out the more a certain submission is applied. Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that some moves get "overused" by a number of wrestlers using them. While I agree that moves like the DDT seem weaker the more they're used, if each move was only allowed to be used by one wrestler, everyone would complain about limited movesets and staleness. I don't see a problem when a move is a non-finisher standard type move like a chop, spine buster or superplex.

I understand that... but it used to be wear down the back with a stretch.. or some other moves be it punching, kicking to the lower back and then when the Wall of Jericho are put on... bam that's it. Every once in awhile is fine by me but when its a common thing I think it waters it down. If Jericho goes for the Walls in the beginning of a match and hadn't done really much offense and Rocky kicks out that would make sense to me because the Rock isn't weak enough for it.
