News from the Torch website:

-The Billboard chart came out in the music industry this morning. For the week ending 2/1/04, the WWE Originals CD dropped to #40, with soundscans (sales over the counter to consumers) at 24,590. Torch subscriber Mike Omansky writes: The sales drop from last week is actually the first positive sign for the project, because it was not as bad as I would have expected for (a) a third week and (b) with a musically poor album. The album has been propped up slightly by the non-stop TV promotion.

-The "Am I Annoying?" has a list of 250 wrestlers ranked in order of annoyingness as voted by visitors. Steven Richards is currently the least annoying of the Most 70 Annoying wrestlers. Mick will discuss a wide variety of topics ranging from his return to WWE TV to his new DVD. Don't miss this big interview. Join us tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET for Between The Ropes on Central Florida's Sports Radio 740 The Team or worldwide in streaming audio at BetweenTheRopes.com. -Raw Viewership Mentioned on TSN - PWTorch.com reader Peter Dedes of Kitchener, Ont. writes: I was watching TSN last Monday and as the anchor of the 6.30 Sportsdesk program was running through the channel's evening lineup, he mentioned that 750,000 viewers would be watching Raw that evening.

-WWE.com has a story on Trish turning down an offer to visit Japan because of a previous commitment to participate in a charity event in Toronto this week, the Siemens Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner and Auction, a fundraiser for The Easter Seal Society of Ontario. -WWE officially announced today that Backlash would take place in Edmonton, Alb. at Rexall Place on Apr. 18. It will be the first PPV after WrestleMania featuring the Raw brand. City of Edmonton Mayor Bill Smith comments: "Edmonton has earned international recognition for its ability to host world-class sporting events. WWE Backlash will be no exception. We look forward to showcasing this exciting event here in the City of Champions." The press release gives some encouragement to those hoping Benoit wins the World Title at WrestleMania. It states: "WWE Superstar and hometown hero Chris Benoit earned a WrestleMania XX World Championship Title match at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, March 14, 2004 by becoming the 2004 Royal Rumble Match winner on Sunday, January 25, 2004 in Philadelphia. If successful at WrestleMania XX, Chris Benoit will be bringing home the World Heavyweight Championship and defending his title at Backlash."

Vince: How did word get out that Benoit was getting the title?

Stooge 1: We've been promoting it that way for months

Vince: Nonsense! Benoit must have told someone. Put the title on HHH.

Vince (to stooge): Actually, we never were really going to give Benoit the title.
