Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Eastern Conference Canadiens over Bruins 4-3 (Bruins haven't been strong down the stretch, while the Habs were on a big roll before the last few games) Senators over Flyers 4-3 (They HAVE to win, or else there will be a major housecleaning) Devils over Hurricanes 4-2 (Devils are the best 6th seed ever, hands down) Maple Leafs over Islanders 4-2 (Yashin rears his ugly post-season head again, as my Leafs beat the Isles in 6) Western Conference Canucks over Red Wings 4-3 (Canucks have been the best team since Christmas, while Detroit hasn't been so hot lately) Kings over Avalanche 4-3 (Kings play the Avs really well, plus Deadmarsch is always strong against his old team) Sharks over Coyotes 4-1 (Phoenix will continue their first round choking ways) Blackhawks over Blues 4-1 (St. Louis has chemistry problems, and Chicago has been surprising people all season long)

Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I don't know about the rest of the series but the Canucks will beat the Red WIngs. Canucks have lost only 9 games since christmas and if the series goes a long time they have the advantage as they have the younger team.

Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted April 16, 2002 EASTERN CONFERENCE (1) Boston BRUINS vs. (8) Montreal CANADIENS Montreal should beat Boston. Boston is a fluke team, that I don't really think they have the depth of taking the Canadiens on. Though Montreal lacks experiance, especially for Goaltending. Though if Theodore is on his head, Boston will be gone in four. Montreal in 6. (2) Philadelphia FLYERS vs. (7) Ottawa SENATORS Hmmm...two teams really choke in the playoffs. Though Phili Goaltending is gonna hurt them, I think Ottawa can pull it off. Ottawa in 6. (3) Carolina HURRICANES vs. (6) New Jersey DEVILS No Brainer, Carolina should not be in, and have no where near the firepower that the Devils have. NJ in four. (4) Toronto MAPLE LEAFS vs. (5) New York ISLANDERS Well I'm not a big leaf fan, or Isles fan, but I don't really think Toronto can take the islanders. Though New York doesn't have much experiance though, but with Osgood in net, a strong fowards, especially Peca, well this is a nail bitter. NY in Seven. WESTERN CONFERENCE (1) Detroit RED WINGS vs. (8) Vancouver CANUCKS Well I don't expect to see Vancouver winning this series. I do hopefully they can win one or two though. (2) Colorado AVALANCHE vs. (7) Phoenix COYOTES Like previous years, Colorado just simply dominates the playoffs. No matter who they are facing, Colorado kicks their asses. Colorado in 5 (3) San Jose SHARKS vs. (6) Los Angeles KINGS Best series in the west, this is a for sure 7 gamer. I think LA will pull off an upset over the Sharks though, and really have heads rollin, that the Kings can be a dominate force in the NHL. (4) St. Louis BLUES vs. (5) Chicago BLACKHAWKS Well St. Louis should win, Chicago has had Goaltending problems the last month or so, that they are really on a slide. St. Louis in 5. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I don't know where this anti-Bruins sentiment is coming from, but if you want to treat them like the Patriots (calling them a fluke, predicting a 1st round exit), by all means go ahead. (BTW, what is the name of the song played when the Bruins score? I can't get it out of my head.) With that out of the way: Boston d. Montreal 4-1 Ottawa d. Philly 4-3 New Jersey d. I think many people that Bruins are not getting past Theodore and people are predicting that most off there offence will do nothing in the playoffs. Or they go by statistics and realize that Montreal has there number.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Well, my beloved Rangers didn't make it this year, but at least I have Montreal (which has made me the black sheep of the family since I live on the East Coast and my family loves the Bruins) and Colorado to root for. EASTERN CONFERENCE (1) Boston BRUINS vs. (8) Montreal CANADIENS Montreal wins 4-2 (2) Philadelphia FLYERS vs. (7) Ottawa SENATORS Flyers win 4-1 (3) Carolina HURRICANES vs. (6) New Jersey DEVILS Devils win 4-2 (4) Toronto MAPLE LEAFS vs. (5) New York ISLANDERS Toronto wins 4-3 WESTERN CONFERENCE (1) Detroit RED WINGS vs. (8) Vancouver CANUCKS Detroit wins 4-1 (2) Colorado AVALANCHE vs. (7) Phoenix COYOTES Colorado wins 4-1 (3) San Jose SHARKS vs. (6) Los Angeles KINGS Sharks win 4-3 (4) St. Louis BLUES vs. (5) Chicago BLACKHAWKS Blackhawks win 4-
Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Has anyone seen Sportsline.com's play-off previews? For the Leafs/Isles series, they give NY the edge in both coaching and goaltending? WTF!

Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 17, 2002 Season series means NOTHING in the playoffs. Need proof? Look at last year's Leafs/Sens series. 'Nuf said.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted April 17, 2002 I'm talking playoff series, the whole series that these two teams faced since the beginning of the Original Six. Sure Montreal doesn't have as many points as Boston, but the season gets you to step one. Step two is much intense, as the new season approaches. All the teams are 0-0 and its anybody's chance to win the cup. If you believe in statistics, or you need some cash, then you leave out what I just said.
