Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I read on the Smarks news update that the WWF will likely have Benoit re-debut with Arn Anderson as his manager. The original idea, it said, was to have Heyman as the manager but they decided to put him with Brock Comments?
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted April 15, 2002 1. Having Arn with Benoit will placate all of the crazy Four Horsemen marks. Thumbs up. 2. Having Arn talk for ANYBODY, Benoit included, guarantees for at least an intelligible interview. Thumbs up. 3. Giving Benoit another manager, just as he seemed to be on the verge of breaking out by himself kind of puts a damper on his push. The last guy to enjoy a main event run in the WWF with a manager (annoying self-serving bitches do not count) was Shawn Michaels, with Jose Lothario...Thumbs down. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 15, 2002 It's not a bad idea at all. AA has the no bullshit straight to the point approach that fits right in with Beniot. Beniot and AA have similiar mic skills, AA is just more polished. I always said if they just gave Beniot the AA type promos that his mic skills are good enough. Beniot like AA doesn't need to have amazing charisma to get their promos over. They just need to be made to look like no nonsense guys that rather kick your ass then talk you to death. Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted April 15, 2002 GAH! They stole my idea! I've been saying this for years....
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I also had the AA/Benoit idea...meh. I'd rather see Benoit just tear into everyone on the roster and put guys out on commission, but having Arn as a manager isn't bad. Benoit should be a silent-but-violent crippler. Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 15, 2002 The difference between Jose and Arn is Arn WAS and still IS a somebody. This helps out Benoit a lot cause Arn can cut a promo and a half, but Benoit lacks in that department and of course if you haven't been living in a cave, they have had a long history together. If this happens, thumbs up to the WWF.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Well, as I said, there's two thumbs up to one thumbs down for me. It will be a good deal, but I feel it's kind of disappointing that they have to saddle his with a manager. What I was saying about Jose was not the fact that Jose was good or bad...it was the fact that Jose and Shawn's run were in 1996 - and the WWF has not been want to push guys with managers very seriously. Take for example, Benoit in 2000 with Shane McMahon. If anything, I think it hurt Benoit's credibility because the WWF felt that they had to use Shane in every match as interference. Judging by how over he was before his injury, it just seemed to me like they were saddling Arn with him just for him to bide his time. Arn's an excellent choice, I'm not denying that. I just hope the WWF does it right.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I dont think they'll use Arn for interference...just a mouthpiece.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted April 15, 2002 What if Benoit returns with AA as his manager, but in his first big match, asks Arn to stay backstage, saying he needs "to prove I can do it on my own." He wins this match, and sets the precedent that Arn doesn't come to ringside but stays as his advisor. Plus, it would make when Arn came to ringside for some reason seem like a big deal. Any time AA is the recipient of a huge ovation is good in my book.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I think that Beniot with Paul Heyman would of been better. Benoit & Lesner = The Next Big Tag Team
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I don't think AA would be doing much interference, especially after JR was saying that AA is disabled after his operation. I know JR spouts a lot of shite, but there is some truth in it.

Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 How can Anderson manange beniot as far as i know Beniot = Smackdown and Anderson = Raw. well thats as far as i know anyway unless theres a trade.
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Face or heel, though? According to Vince there are no faces and heels. It's his company, so if doesn't want them they don't exist. Anyways...they seem to be thinking about teaming up Raven(if he doesn't start a group) and Benoit according to WWF magazine.
Guest caboose Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Benoit should be the BadASS he was from the summer of 2000 where he laid beatings on Jericho, Rikishi, Rocky and the intense Triple H. Double A as a mouthpiece might work but then how long before the Horseman cameback? Seeing as Vince is making money of Nostalgia lately, he really couldn't resist. And to tell the truth, as great as the Horseman were, i really don't want to go back to the 1980's more than i am already with Hogan.

Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Excellent news. I can just see Arn giving someone a spinebuster and letting Benoit slap on the cross face. I think they'll be heels as Benoit/Austin was supposed to be the WM match if Benoit had got back in time, so I think they'll still go with that feud.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 15, 2002 And to tell the truth, as great as the Horseman were, i really don't want to go back to the 1980's more than i am already with Hogan. Yes but Horsemen and 80's NWA/WCW is good nostalgia unlike 80's WWF nostalgia which is nothing but cheesy shite. But still as much i love the Horsemen i don't want to see the name return i'd rather leave that to the good memories. So if they do use AA and Beniot as the starting point of a new stable i hope they use a new name.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Anyways...they seem to be thinking about teaming up Raven(if he doesn't start a group) and Benoit according to WWF magazine. Raven's on RAW (well...Heat), Benoit on Smackdown. Won't happen.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 15, 2002 The last thing Benoit needs at this stage in his career is to be stuck in the dead-end tag team division. Put him w/ Arn... I'd mark out like a bitch.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I'd really mark if Arn busted out with more of those sweet spinebusters that he pulled out against the Undertaker at Mania. I forgot how awesome he was at the spinebuster. Everyone does them now but his was one of the best. Having a manager I don't know would really help Benoit that much though. It''l be interesting if it goes through to see what kind of explanation they give it.

"The last thing Benoit needs at this stage in his career is to be stuck in the dead-end tag team division." Exactly! "OK, fan favorite or...uh, not fan favorite?" Benoit is a much better heel. Plus, as a heel he is able to control the flow of the match and that my friends is a good thing!
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Wait, I still don't understand how Arn would manage Benoit with Benoit being on Smackdown... would they really tear Arn away from Flair? That'd make an interesting angle in and of itself. Or maybe since RAW lacks a lot of talent, there can be a storyline "trade" for Benoit or something...
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted April 16, 2002 or as the wwf is a nonsensical entity they could just have arn show up wherever and never comment on it.

I think they'll have Flair send Arn over to Smackdown in a trade to help Chris Benoit make a name for himself on Smackdown. Bringing up the history between the three.
