As everybody knows that the NBA playoffs is next weekend and I am excited cuz this when the real season begins, Everyone is predicting the Lakers 2 win it all but i dont bout that considering that the west is real strong but whoever comes out in the west will win it all, In the east it can be any team has the ability to win the east cuz its so weak team seem even. if some team catch fire from the east proably make it to the finals.

I see the Kings and Nets going at it in the final with the Kings taking it in 5. I've been a Kings fan since I was a kid and this year is by far their best team. They have depth all around, great chemistry, they're great at home(and have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs), and are the most exciting team in the NBA. Hopefully Shaq won't be 100% come the playoff time but even if he is I think this is the Kings year. The Lakers and Mavericks are the big concerns as both have shown they can beat the Kings, but I don't see it happening in a series.

I hate the west, it's boring and it's pretty much shortened to 4 teams but the east is a tossup and you can't predict it, which follows the format of the Field of 65. No team in the East stands out, On a Good day, #8 Milwaukee can beat #1 New Jersey. In the west, Only three teams can beat the Kings in a series(Lakes, Spurs and Mavs) no one else stands a chance.  The sentimental fav is Utah. Why? We wanna see Karl and John get their ring before they destory their legancy. We've seen what happened to Pat and "Dream", we don't want Karl and John to follow that route.  Seattle and Portland are playoff fillers. They might as well be Denver and Golden St. The lakers will, sadly take the west, just to annoy the piss out of me.

It's all about the east here. since when did competitive become  "Weak" ? N.J could win, Detroit could win, Boston could win, Orlando could win, Toronto could win, even Charlotte could win the east. However, Only Detroit and N.J can challenge the Lakers and Kings. Likely L.A Walks over N.J in 6.

I really hope Portland pulls it off.  Nobody really gives them a chance to beat the lakers in the first round, but after watching them beat the Lakers yesterday, I think they have a shot.  Maurice just needs to have them control their tempers and maybe they could go far.

Well, here it goes...barring any injuries, I can't see anyone beating the nets in a Series.....Thats right, I said it.  I can't see the nets losing in a series.  The only team that I could really see MAYBE beating them in a series is Dallas and I don't think they will make it to the finals.

So let me be the only one that says it.....Nets will win the championship.....I like going out on the limb.

Ripper-who hasn't picked the playoffs right since 94...but dammit he picked it right.

Go Nets! I've been a fan since the early 90s, and I want to see them play either Sacramento because I really like how they play, or Dallas because their owner just plain kicks ass.

ok, since I am a Celtics fan AND a Spurs fan, my dream match would be Spurs vs. Celtics

Being a realist, I think there is no way Sacramento or Dallas comes out of the West. they simply have not proven they can play playoff defense. I think San Antonio can come out of the West but last year's embarassing sweep at the hands of the Lakers will weigh heavily on their mind. I don't think they'll get swept, but the Lakers beat the Spurs in 6 in the 2nd round and eventually go to the finals. And since L.A. is my most hated team EVER, it pains me to say that.

In the East, it's a crapshoot. None of those teams, including New Jersey are playoff tested or proven save for Philafelphia, but Iverson is moving on imaginary crutches right now. I really think Boston is capable of escaping the East and making it to the finals.

Finals- Boston vs. L.A. The feud of the 60's and 80's returns and while I would love for Boston to win, I think the Lakers sweep or win in 5. It would give me one more reason to hate the Lakers even more than I do after beating my two favorite basketball teams.

Fantasy Finals- Boston vs. San Antonio -the team who wishes they had Tim Duncan vs. the team who has him. In my mind, this series would go seven games with the final game going into 7 overtimes. Finally, after pure exhaustion, bith teams are called champions and share the trophy and celebrate together. Wishful Thinking

I'd love to see the Two greatest NBA franchises (Boston and L.A) meet in the finals but I do believe Boston will get dropped in round one, even though there my personal fav team. (Since Cincy has none)

I am hoping the nets can pull it off.  I have followed jason kidd as a fan of whatever team he plays on, except the suns which I just hate all the pussie sont hat team but anyway.  with kidd martin and van horn playing top notch io and d, and the role players like kittles make some shots, I can see them taking it all.  BTW I think dallas will ake the west.

I'd like to see Portland win it all, and they've shown they can beatmany of the top teams, but if they can do it in a series is another thing.

I think it'll probably come down to the Lakers v Kings or Mavs in the west, and any of the three could potentially make the NBA Finals. But i wouldn't rule out San Antonio either, Duncan's good enough to take them through the playoffs.

In the East i think any of the top 7 could make it through (the Pacers aren't going anywhere). Alot of the teams are unproven in the playoffs though, so that's where the likes of Philadelphia and to an extent Charlotte and Toronto may have an advantage.

I'd like to see either Boston or Charlotte make it to the finals, but i think New Jersey will probably win the east, they've shown they're the best in the East all year.

I stayed away from contributing to this thread because the playoff scene was determined very late. I have a little trouble seeing anyone beating the Lakers. I think the Lakers will beat the Kings (if they meet) and the East still looks wide open. I think a Nets/Pistons matchup would be pretty good though.
