Guest Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I haven't seen alot of the show recently but I heard Tom Green was awful. Wasn't Lorne so pissed at how bad the show was that he told Tom to never come back? I can't really think of who is the best. Also if there's any fun backstage stories you know of you can tell whether or not they have to do with your picks. I'm sure more than me would like to hear them. PS: Don't you think its stupid to give 15 minutes of fame idiots like Macauley Culkin and Olympic athletes hosting slots when SNL will look like morons after those people fade away? Guest bdolo Report post Posted April 15, 2002 Bill Murray is my all time favorite host. he has hosted more than once, but I just like every movie or show he has been in. My favorite skit is when he is a dance teacher at a community college and teaches an all male class, the skit includes chris farley, adam sandler, david spade, and rob schenieder As far as the worst, I am not sure, but a couple of weeks ago when that older guy from lord of the rings was own, it pretty much sucked shit through a tube
Guest supersalvadorian Report post Posted April 15, 2002 As far as I'm concerned, the greatest SNL ever is and always will be Christopher Walken. I mean, the Continental is GOLD, baby! That, and the skit where he keeps asking for the band to play more cowbell, one of the funniest ever in my mind. Supersalvadorian Sexier than the average bear. Guest starvenger Report post Posted April 15, 2002 I'm not sure that I've loved an SNL entirely from beginning to end. The Christopher Walken one was one of the funnier ones from the new cast, though. And Alec Baldwin (who's hosting next week) is always good for a few laughs. Guest the Goon Report post Posted April 15, 2002 the Tom Green one was awesome. I've always felt that SNL is at its best when its most bizarre, and Green set the standard, with the "lorne and tom in a tub" bits, the eagles, the rock around the clock song... there were a few bad sketches though, but I blame Molly Shannon, as I usually do. Shes a ruiner. John Goodman and Christopher Walken are always great that downhill skier guy was really funny, actually Conan O'Brien was OK, but it could have been better they really dropped the ball with the Jon Stewart one, he was hilarious, the episode was not. Garth Brooks made a good host. Old! French! Whore! Sarah Michelle Gellar was a memorable one, especially because of her stripping to "candle in the wind' as a tribute to Diana. Cameron Diaz's episode the week before Rock was maybe the most consistent episode I've ever seen... for worst: Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez... whenever the stars have such an ego that they wont do anything that makes them look foolish, the episode blows. Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted April 15, 2002 walken was real funny during an older appearence when he played "Ed Glosser,Trivial Psychic" he would tell people insignficant things like "Today, you will get in your car, driveoff, stop at a taco bell, eat some tacos, you will enjoy them" or somethin to that effect
Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 16, 2002 kevin spacey was gold when he hosted. lots of hosts either kind of half-ass it or just don't know what to do because they're out of their element, & the effect is always that the host is seemingly on a different level than the cast. not necessarily a better or worse level, it's just like they're in separate worlds. spacey had absolutely none of that going on, he kept up with the cast beautifully. he was having a great time with the whole thing, & it was obvious. jim carrey was another great one, through sheer energy. it was wonderful seeing him perform in front of an audience again. Guest starvenger Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Speaking of Carrey, I was actually tempted to add Damon Wayans to that list, but all they did was recycle his In Living Color characters, so I'm not even sure that it should count as an SNL episode... Guest Kevin Sullivan Booked My Divorce Report post Posted April 16, 2002 My fav episode: Early 90's, Tom Hanks. With sketches like "Sabra Price Is Right," "Mr. Belvedere Fan Club," and "She Turned Into Her Mother" it's one of the best ever. Plus, Tom Hanks always looks like he's having fun when he hosts, as opposed to just going through the motions.

Guest Report post Posted April 17, 2002 The episode when Carrey hosted was one of my favorites. The lifeguard sketch with Carrey as the lifeguard of a hottub is a classic. That was the first show they ever did the "Roxbury" sketch and it was amazing before they killed it.
