Kane's push...

As I mentioned in the "name one thing you like about the WWF thread", I feel Kane's push is working at the moment. I'd never have suspected that he had the promo ability in him that he does. His character is starting to remind me of Foley's face Mankind persona, for some reason. Maybe I was very tired when I watched it, but his interview style sounded a lot like Foley on RAW.

 

From Foley's books I gather that he and Kane were closer than most wrestlers, so I think Foley's style may be influencing Kane right now. He also sounds like a pretty intelligent guy, so much like Foley he should be able to do some interesting promos.

 

The "Freaks Kick Ass" direction he has now is a good one. I've always felt that Kane had more potential than most big men in the business. He seems to improve every year. I'd certainly rather watch Kane in the main event than the Undertaker.

I think it's working quite nice.  He's on a show where he really is one of the main draws, and his new signs of personality are giving him some freshness.  As long as the men on top keep letting him cut promos and let him work in a few new crowd-pleasing moves, he should be on his way to being one of Raw's headlining stars.

 

Who knows if they'll do that, though.  As we all know the track record hasn't been the best for the last year or so...

Well the WWF likes to push guys that have been around for a while... Kane has been in the WWF about 7 years now, with nearly 5 as Kane. He's paid his dues in the WWF, and earned his push.

well it looks like Kane & Bradshaw vs XPac & Hall main eventing Raw.

 

So if Kane lost his mask for good, how is he going look now....will he be disfigured or look like New Disiel?

 

Will Kane develop a personaliy that is more than just the freak brother of the Undertaker, Kane deserves something different something that will make the people say "wow" instead of "its the undertakers brother" or "its XPac's friend/enemy"

Maybe he'll have a new mask...

 

I just can't see how they'd handle a maskless Kane. If they try and use makeup to give the impression of a scarred face, then it will probably look really cheesy. Or it might come off during the course of a match.

I think Kane will do well if the WWF puts him in the ring with the right people ie Austin (I liked their match from way back in KOR 98).  I hate watching complete clashes in ring style because even if both wrestlers are working hard it just falls apart.

He should get a new mask instead of coming out without a mask. If he comes out without a mask the whole thing would fall flat. A new mask and a new outfit to go with his personality would keep the character fresh though. He's earned his chance at the top I think. He's had some good matches, and a new face with the title is always good.

If Kane DOESN'T get a new mask or makeup, what do you think his new gimmick should be?

I honestly think that's just an impossible case, given as to how long Kane as existed as Kane, never changing.  Neither I nor anyone else, smark or sheep can think of Kane as existing without a costume and mask (well, some of us can think of him as Fake Diesel or a dentist...).  All I know about when Kane comes back is, mask, makeup, or non, he's gonna be PISSED at X-Pac... unless it's a weird Russo-ian angle where Kane needed his mask to be removed to get past that step in his life.  But no, especially given them trying to push him as a "freaks are cool" Mankind-ish face, there's no way in hell he's gonna show up without some kind of mask or makeup.

I highly doubt he could survive sans mask but they definitly need to ditch the current model.  With Kane talking more and more now the mask is just getting in the way.  A lot of the time I can't really understand what he's saying.
