Anyone  remember the dreaded WCW mascot that was on Monday Nitro? I do. Its name was Wildcat Willie and it was really stupid. It did really dumb acrobatic acts and was booed out of the building many times. The good thing though is that he got beat up a lot.

This was around 1995-1999. If you own any WCW magazines from 1995 to 1999 you might see a pic of him.

I have one question. Does anyone have a pic of Wildcat Willie? Too bad he never got added to Wrestlecrap.

I had a WCW trading card with him on it but I don't think I have it anymore.

Thanks.

I can't believe whoever made the WCW cards wasted paper on Wildcat Willie. Kind of similar when The Brooklyn Brawler was on a WWF card.

The rumor was Wild Cat Willie was portrayed by Lanny Poffo.  Poffo was under WCW contract for years and never used because of a clause in Randy Savage's contract, so it makes sense.  I couldn't confirm that though.

Anyway, I went to a couple of Nitros in that time frame, and it seems his entire purpose was to hand out Hulk Hogan shirts to the first few rows so the cameras could create the illusion that people cared about Hogan enough to buy his merchandise.

WOW,I don't know what is more interesting that he might be Lanny Poffo or that he handed out Hulk Hogan t-shirts,I always figured people bought them and that he was really popular, man was I wrong.

Thanks.

Good choice replacing Willey with the Nitro girls... until WCW felt the need to try to create angles with them leading to them having to wrestle.

Umm.....I know this is somewhat off the subject but that Who Wants To Be A Wrestling Millionaire is messed up it keeps telling me I get questions right but I have already gotten questions wrong which I haven't.

Thanks.

I don't remember the mascot in the WCW but it sounds pretty fucking lame.

He was pretty lame but he was rarely on TV so it really didn't matter, you would see him every once in a while in the backround or something but that's it.

Thanks.
