The Coy family is in on the secret. You know it has to be true. Theres always a twist in ever reality show. Im saying that the whole Coy family is in on the secret as well.

I haven't watched the last episode or two but I hope you are right only because they are so damn obnoxious they have to be acting. I would rather they not get the money because they are snobs and quite annoying.

No, I mean 'didn't we just go through this "oh, they're in on it and playing the actors" with Joe Schmo?'.

 

Seems like we'll go through this with every 'actors playing someone' reality show.

I didn't enjoy that ending as much as I hoped to. The minor problem was that I thought more of Randi's reaction to the fact that Steve was an actor should have been shown. That was one of the big blowoffs of the entire season and, either at the wedding or by confessional, we should have seen much more of her reaction.

 

However, the bigger problem with the final angle was the fact that the family was so detestable. How can you be happy about the fact that this family just received $500,000 despite the fact that everyone, with the exception of the father, were absolute assholes throughout the entire process? The siblings snubbed their sister, the mother WALKED AWAY when Randi attempted to explain to her what the prank was about.....and these people were rewarded for their terrible conduct? This angle worked with Joe Schmo because people WANTED him to succeed. They genuinely liked to see the fact that he got the money and was so thrilled over it. This doesn't work with the Coy family simply because they proved to be so dislikable and unsupportive as a family (despite what Steve said - you don't keep ignoring your sister/daughter, then sob desperately at her wedding)

 

I did feel good for Randi because, after all the stuff she had to deal with, she DID deserve the money. Plus, at the end, she really did look like she went through this ordeal to help her family with their financial situations. But I couldn't find myself to be happy for her family, and that's a shame.

Did the family totally deserve the money..? I don't know.

 

They were bitches throughout but they did show up (and be bitches about it) but that counts enough. I mean it is just as any other family.

 

My cousin got married to a black guy (we're muslim/brown) and when she brought him home for the first time only the mom was supportive and in time everyone got through except the father who did not attend the wedding but later gave his blessing. I don't know if that is a good enough comparision.

 

All in all Randi deserved it the most. She was amazing throughout.
