Guest Nater Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Okay.. Bradshaw has been around for a while now and been part of things and the APA was over pretty well at some point. But now, Bradshaw is going to get into main event area and I was thinking of some pros and cons.. and comparing him to our current maineventers. In time, if enough thought goes through it Bradshaw can get wasted on too-fast of a push. As it is right now, a lot of things can happen that will ruin his run (a lot of those things are prone to happen) such as continuity problems, feud development problems and mark nonacceptance. Damn it boy, work out some more too!! I say let the guy get it, and hope it works out.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I say let Bradshaw learn more than five moves before he gets a push.
Guest Nater Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Uhh.. check out the current main eventers.. only cruiserweights have more than 5 moves
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 16, 2002 True, sadly.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Bradshaw was merely passable as one half as the Anal Penetraton Agency. On his own, he's abysmal.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted April 16, 2002 [lame attempt at humor]Sure, give him a shot. Maybe 2, one to each leg so he can't wrestle again.[/lame attempt at humor]
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I don't think he deserves a shot. Not at his apparent spot on the Raw roster. Not at all. There *should* be things that prevent this. There *should* be a few things that a wrestler must accomplish before getting a push. I will use RVD as a comparison for Bradshaw...just to piss Rasmus off. 1. Be beleivable in the role you are being pushed in. RVD: his immediate (well 2 month in) push saw him beat Taker, Rock, Austin, Angle and Jericho and Main Event No Mercy. But he was the most over part of the Alliance...and the fact that he never lost in ECW....or the WWF...let me put it this way...I didn't think he should get the push...but It didn't seem completely unreasonable that he won all those matches...especially since they weren't clean wins. Bradshaw: Gets involved in the nWo angle (which gets more airtime than most of my favorite wrestlers combined) and then teams with Austin on Raw. Now this "push" is no where near as big as that RVD push...but I ain't buying it. If anything it exposes how weak the Raw roster is...Austin and Bradshaw? One of these things is not like the other...one of these things does NOT belong. 2. Be over enough to warrant the push. RVD: Um...yeah. Bradshaw: HE's over. There is no denying the fact that the guy gets a pop. I don't know why...but that's neither here nor there. But there are people that are MORE over than him that Aren't Main Eventing Raw. Hmm....Booker's teaming with Goldust (AND THERE ARE NO TAG TITLES ON RAW)...and he would be beleivable as a top guy too...if only he were a face...but I digress. 3. You don't have to be a good wrestler...but be good at what you do. RVD: Can pop the crowd all the time through the match. Does things no one else does. and his matches always have heat. Bradshaw: He does that clothesline well...but I've seen Lesner do it better. SO there goes that. 4. Be good enough in your role to warrant staying and further pushing. RVD: Even the haters agree that he could be a big star if the WWF wants him to be. RVD as WWF champ...ewll over HHH's dead body...but it could most definitely happen. Bradshaw: Does Bradshaw have a WWF title run in his future? Good God I don't think so...at least thats what I'm praying about. So maybe I used RVD for a reason other than just to piss Rasmus off. Its because Bradshaw is higher on the Raw card than RVD is. And that aint right. But he is a hoss.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted April 16, 2002 *Horrible vision of Bradshaw with Unified Championship, feuding with HHH*
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 16, 2002 The problem with Bradshaw is that he gets pops for his entrance, but then the crowds are silent during the match. If he doesn't perform well in his match against Hall this Sunday, I don't see him being anything more than a upper-midcard placeholder ala Kane. Of course, with JR the Hoss-lovin' guy that he is, he may not to know when to say when. (sigh) It feels like '94-'96 again... I may have to devote more time outside the wrestling world. Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I personally think Bradshaw is way over with the fans..................from Texas, anywhere else in the world he is considered a poor man's Steve Austin, the only time he was truly over was back in 99 as the acolytes . In other words he doesn't deserve a push because people are tired of seeing too many texas' rednecks as main eventers
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Bradshaw is a complete dick who wants his own way. He's over cos of his good mic skills and his clothesline, but if you ever watch an acolytes match before the clothesline the crowd is dead. They are both crap. I never want bradshaw to get pushed ever.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted April 16, 2002 The only reason the Clothesline from Hell looks so good is because the big prick stiffs people with it all the time...
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Maybe Bradshaw got into the shower with someone from the booking team and soaped them up to get his spot.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 16, 2002 What's Bradshaw's gimmick again? Let's see: He's a beer-swilling, loud-mouthed, ass-kicking, no-nonsense Texas redneck. Sounds familiar, right? The only difference is that Austin's talented and charismatic, whereas Bradshaw has only his passable mic skills and the stupid clothesline to work with. To say that I'm not looking forward to his push or the battle of the fallaway slams this Sunday would be an understatement.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I see Bradshaw getting a Rikishi like push where he is at the top of the card for a while and pushed as a minimal threat who just gets big matches. It'll cement him as a bigger star and make people wonder when he is going to make his way back up, but he'll just pull a Rikishi and fail miserably, because he sin't worth much. Also, this Sunday is more of a test for Hall. Vince is probably thinking Bradshaw is so over because he's been in Texas lately. Scott might not make him look good and the match will be heatless, so it is Hall's fault and he sucks, Bradshaw will keep moving up.
Guest Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Triple H agreed to give Bradsahaw a push after he heard Bradshaw was thinking of giving Steph the baby oil treatment...and going all the way with it.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted April 16, 2002 Of course Bradshaw gets a Main Event push! Duh! He's from Texas, therefore making him a "young stud" & a "hoss".
Guest Report post Posted April 16, 2002 I'm a long-time Bradshaw fan and I think it's pretty cool that he's finally getting a legit singles push. I was in attendance at No Mercy and the fans were into the APA's tag match on Heat, to the point where just about everyone popped when they saw him come off the ropes for the lariat. If there's one thing this "brand extension" will do, it'll allow people to get more big opportunities that they might not have gotten before. Maybe it's just me, but I think Bradshaw could run with the ball if given the chance that he's getting now...we'll just have to wait and see.
