Superstring 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Seems a pretty blah show, I guess that puts the kibosh on the Cruiserweight Battle Royale at WM as well. Should I be looking forward to the Angle promo then?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 What ever happen to Ultimo Dragon being the #1 contender for the Cruiserweight title. I remember him beating someone for it a few months ago but I don't think he ever got his shot at it.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble vs. Nunzio vs. Billy Kidman...ehh...should be worthwhile NON-TITLE TAG MATCH Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty vs. the A.P.A....*vomit* Billy Gunn vs. Brock Lesnar...being that I can't force myself to care for anything Billy Gunn related...I don't care John Cena and ? vs. The Big Show and Chavo Guerrero (with Chavo Senior)...ehh, could be ok. I'm tired of everyone needing a promo for why they turn heel. Kurt is a natural heel, a real bastard, why does he need explaination when he does it?

Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 What ever happen to Ultimo Dragon being the #1 contender for the Cruiserweight title. I remember him beating someone for it a few months ago but I don't think he ever got his shot at it. Everyone brings it that up, but that never happened. The Rey vs. Ultimo match was not for a shot at the title. All the announcers said was that the winner COULD be in line for a title match.
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I'm tired of everyone needing a promo for why they turn heel. Kurt is a natural heel, a real bastard, why does he need explaination when he does it? Um, because Eddy was his friend before he beat him up. He needed help containing his Latino Heat, which Kurt helped him with. The face Kurt Angle would've just been hyped up for friendly competition on the greatest stage of them all and wouldn't have been beating up on him. And like the other guy said, if they never explained it, everyone would be on the SmackDown! brand's ass. Damned if you do and if you don't, but no need to be a jerk about it. And our jobberooni friend the Ultimo Dragon can get all the title shots in the world, he'll just lose them all and embarrass his countrymen and Funaki and Gail Kim as well. Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I wish they would try something new. Putting world titles on two guys we've been praising for years isn't new?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 What the hell? I posted a thread requesting these last night, right after spoilers were posted, and it was deleted. Oh well... This looks like a pretty "bleh" show, and I'm usually fairly optimistic. Of course, it could turn out to be good. I'll still be watching, as usual.

Kurt and Eddie were never "friends" before this year, and January was just a big ol' mess of shit that made no sense, so we're pretending it never happened. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 There should be the Charter of Katie Vick, where -as decided by members of TSM- stupid things that the WWE has done and established be officially forgotten and never brought up again in the hopes of lessening frustration in the future. We could stick it at the top of the page and amend it often.

Kurt and Eddie were never "friends" before this year, and January was just a big ol' mess of shit that made no sense, so we're pretending it never happened. What an outlandish opinion on the matter. Just because you don't like angles doesn't mean we should ignore them. C'mon now.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I still don't think they were friends in the storyline. I thought Kurt was just trying to help a family that was having trouble within one another rekindle their family values. January was like an after school special on family morals and shit on Smackdown.

Just because you don't like angles doesn't mean we should ignore them. C'mon now. We're not forgetting it because I don't like the angle, it's that it doesn't work AT ALL. For it to make sense, you have to change, rewrite, or create new history for Angle, Guerrero and the company itelf. It's much easier to just say it never happened. Look at the feud without January, and it's constructed very well.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Are you talking about the tag team stuff. I assumed Angle was trying to keep Eddy out of the race for the title. He figured Eddy had the best shot at winning, and he wanted to take the title off Brock himself. Or he just didn't want to face Eddy at all.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 25, 2004 (edited) Are you talking about the tag team stuff. I assumed Angle was trying to keep Eddy out of the race for the title. He figured Eddy had the best shot at winning, Why would he assume that a man that was jobbing regularly to the Bashams was a better shot than Benoit, Cena and Show? Edited February 25, 2004 by Anglesault
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I'm assuming because Eddy was the loose end. The oher guys were fighting against each oher and Angle could play off that in the match. With Eddy, he needed to either keep him away (keep them tagging) or force him into extra issues (with Chavo, bringing in Sr., setting him up). If Angle's totally focused on winning, and everyone else is divided, his chances are going to be better.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 25, 2004 But Eddie wasn't even being built up as a strong challenger. He was jobbing to the Bashams, for christ sakes. If that's his logic, why not target Rikishi?
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted February 25, 2004 There's already been a multiple page thread on this with AS. No need to do it again.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Eddy was getting a good amount of TV time. He was constantly being featured as part of the tag team division. He had just held the titles, which carry the second most importance on SmackDown. And besides, Angle still remembers going up against Eddy in all those tag matches. He knows Eddy can fight, and he's trying to cover his bases. How much time had Rikishi gotten up to that point?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 How bout this for reason? While Angle was recently gone, no one was asking about where he was and if he was injured or not, everyone was talking about Eddie. Then we get a Chavo 2 feud...only with Angle not chavo.
