On February 28, 2004 NWA Florida’s show “Mark of the Mask” went on despite the non-presence of LXW who backed out for reasons to be explained later by NWA FL officials. The fans came out to the St. Petersburg Armory witnessed the crowning of new NWA Florida tag team champions as the bicep injury sustained by Mike Shane will keep him out of action for three months and it forced the Shane Twins to forfeit the titles back to the NWA FL office. Before the main show the fans were treated to a three match showcase session:

(1) Brian Boring defeated Logan Casey and Scott Commodity.

(2) Hot Ass Amy Love, James Hendrix and Mark Zout (as Kane) defeated Kevin Devine, T-Bolt and Luther “Bodybag” Jackson.

(3) Cuban Assassin (w/Fantasy) defeated Havoc

Now onto the main show results:

(4) Todd Shane (w/Ron Niemi) defeated Bruce Steele in a heavyweight contenders’ match

NWA referee Star Stevens came out ready to officiate but Niemi protested his assignment as he felt Stevens had screwed the Shane Brothers in several matches. As Stevens left Niemi introduced his own “911 referee” Eric Loy. Steele appeared to be larger since his last appearance in an NWA FL ring and he tried to use his new strength to match that of Todd Shane. But Shane had all the factors and what appeared to be a crooked referee on his side. Steele fought back several times and had Shane beat but Loy’s count was slower than the crowd and Steele wanted it to be. Steele went for a corner splash but he missed the mark and Shane hit the TKO for a three count.

(5) Maximum Capacity defeated “Uptown” Frankie Capone (w/Cannon)

Even with Cannon’s help Capone was outmatched by the 600+ pound Max’s strength. But Capone briefly got control by his superior speed. The referee didn’t seem to mind Cannon interfering in the match as Capone lay exhausted on the floor, Max splashed Cannon and got the three count. After the match there appeared to be some dissention between the Double Deuce members.

An intermission was scheduled but that was put on hold by the arrival at the ring of the “Black Nature Boy” Scoot Andrews. Andrews appeared to be angrier than usual and he told the fans why. He felt that there was racism in the NWA Florida office and locker room and decided he was going to step away from the Alliance of Defiance briefly to settle some scores. Andrews then shocked the audience by bringing out a new partner, Antonio Banks!!! Banks said that even though Andrews destroyed his knee and he destroyed Andrews’ forearm, they had respect for each other and Banks was tired of busting his ass for the fans and not getting gold around his waist to match the jewelry around his neck. Andrews made it be known that his team with Banks was to be called Nig$@# With Attitudes and they wanted to be included in the NWA Florida tag team title match tonight.

(6) Navy Seal defeated Yuki Iishikawa (w/Ron Niemi) in a Battle Arts match

Niemi spoke on behalf of Iishikawa-san saying Seal’s career would end tonight. Seal announced he had some backup to counteract Niemi being at ringside, his Allied Forces partners Cuban Assassin and Fantasy. Being fought under Battle Arts rules the brutality factor was higher than any match on the show. Both men went for leg lock submissions early but Seal raised the physicality level when he hit a stiff spinning heel kick to Iishikawa’s face. Iishikawa gained control back when he changed his attack to Seal’s left arm and shoulder. Seal recovered and applied his version of the “crippler crossface” but he did not get a submission. Both men got to the neutral position and began to smash each others face with forearm shots but neither man went down to the mat. An Iishikawa headbutt did not hurt Seal but a kick to the groin did. The fans got behind Seal and it energized him to the point that he scored a 2nd spinning heel kick this time knocking Iishikawa out and winning by a standing 10 count. Both men received a well deserved ovation from the crowd.

(7) “Freedom Ryder” Mike Sullivan (w/the XTC Jenni Lee) defeated David Babylon, Sedrick Strong, Lex Lovett and Danny Doring in a five way dance.

This five way match gave fans the opportunity to see in ring matchups they might not normally see on a NWA FL show. Each man showed the NWA Florida office why they should be considered contenders to all the NWA Florida singles titles including the Southern championship held by Steve Corino. The major highlight was all four men executing planchas onto the floor and Mike Sullivan. Strong and Lovett continued to fight on the floor. Meanwhile back in the ring Sullivan hit Babylon with a turnbuckle powerbomb but Doring then hit Sullivan with the “Bareback” but it backfired on Doring as the move dropped Sullivan on top of the still injured Babylon for the victory.

(8) Chaos defeated OG Scarface (w/Ana Mosity) in a hardcore match

OG came out and proclaimed himself the NWA Florida icon which didn’t sit well with the crowd or Chaos. These two men fought all over the Armory using anything that wasn’t nailed down as a weapon and that list included a kendo stick, a barbwire baseball bat and a chair covered in mini light tubes. Surprisingly both men were busted open by these items. OG called Mosity into the ring to help in the victory but her running speed limit sign smash hit her man by mistake. Chaos hit OG with a DDT and earned the win. After the match there appeared to be major problems between OG and Mosity as she hit OG with a forearm shot to the jaw.

(9) Fahrenheit 420 (Stash and David Mercury) won the NWA FL tag tam titles by defeating NWA (Scoot Andrews & Antonio Banks), the Untouchables (Rod Steel & Mikey Tenderfoot) and Shockwave (Mikey Batts & Erick Stevens w/Lance Thrustwell.)

NWA brought out a surprise to make the fans hate them even more than before, their manager for the evening So Cal Val!!! With too much action to describe the falls went this way:

-Untouchables eliminated Shockwave

-NWA eliminated the Untouchables

-Fahrenheit 420 eliminated NWA as Stash pinned Andrews.

Andrews told the crowd and the 420 crew that they weren’t done yet and sooner or later the tag titles would be theirs.

(10) NWA World Jr. Heavyweight champion “Mr. 630” Jerrelle Clark defeated Naphtali in a ladders match.

These competitors knew each other so well that they quickly had to find new ways to obtain victory. Naphtali stunned fans as he pulled off a stunning Garvin stomp followed by a Polish Hammer. Naphtali then applied a “crippler crossface” even using the ladder for assistance. But Naphtali got into a shouting match with the referee and this allowed Clark to dropkick Naphtali face first into the ladder. Clark then hit Naphtali with a springboard flip as Naphtali stood on the floor. Clark rolled Naphtali back in the ring but as Clark tried to bring the ladder back in the ring Naphtali hit Clark with a plancha. Naphtali then got a taller ladder, brought in the ring and….dropped back into the “crippler crossface??” When submission didn’t being victory Naphtali decided to involve both ladders in the match but it backfired and Clark reversed an Irish whip into the ladders forcing Naphtali into them and all three fell to the mat. Naphtali recovered and hit a Van Terminator as Clark lay prone under a ladder. Naphtali went for a second Van Terminator but Clark got to his feet and shook the ropes causing Naphtali to fall off the rope. Clark went for a 630 but Naphtali blocked it but his bodyslam was countered by Clark into a cradle for a 2 count. Naphtali hit a shining wizard but his top of the ladder splash missed. Clark hit a “sky twister press” (his name for the move) as Naphtali lay under a ladder. Both men were given a standing ovation for their efforts.

(11) NWA Florida Heavyweight champion “Modern Miracle” Steve Madison defeated Justice.

The unorthodox ring style of Justice gave Madison fits but Justice could not match Madison’s superior strength advantage. Justice turned it up a notch by hitting a ringside plancha onto Madison. Back in the ring Justice hit a double handspring mule kick but Madison recovered and hit Justice with a between the ropes spear onto the floor. In the ring Madison an RKO and then slapped on an abdominal stretch followed by a sharpshooter but couldn’t get a submission from the challenger. Justice got back on the offensive and got an armbar submission on Madison but could not get the tap out. Madison got out of the hold but fell into a triangle choke which he tried to powerbomb his way out of but Justice refused to let go of the hold until Madison got to the ropes causing a break. Justice attempted a 450 splash but Madison stopped him and hit a super brainbuster. Madison went for a second super brainbuster but Madison blocked it and hit the 450 splash but the pin wasn’t counted as Madison had a foot draped on the bottom rope. Justice went for a spinning punch but Madison countered with a forearm to the face and a brainbuster which earned him the victory. Todd Shane and Ron Niemi came from the locker room and attacked the exhausted Madison until from the NWA FL merchandise table came the O.D.D. Jeff Bradley!!! Bradley made Shane and Niemi stop the assault and after both men trade verbal insults not able to be printed here Bradley proposed that when he and Mike Shane are 100% they settle it in the ring.

lxw turned out to be nothing more than another exercise in futility by a money mark with less cash than brains.... what should have been a rousing weekend of success for lxw and nwa florida turned into a rousing success for nwa florida and a monsterous failure for lxw... after nwa florida officials met all of the "requests" of lxw and were assured of talent appearing on each others shows in exchange for some help promoting the events , just 2 days before the event when contacting lxw workers that were scheduled to appear nwa florida officials found that NONE of the boys were informed of the added booking..... in addition when people showed up at the bldg in miami tonight who were promised tickets in exchange for local promotion of the show they were told that "tickets were 20 bucks and the doors open at 4 ...thanks".......so for all their efforts it looks as if lxw has drawn yet another house of around 100 fans much like their first "major" event in nyc and again lost their asses........ now for the success of the weekend..after scrambling to put together a show that was turned inside out less than 36 hours before bell time nwa florida proceeded to draw roughly TRIPLE the crowd of lxw the next day and entertain the hell out of a very appreciative crowd that witnessed some very good wrestling including 2 successful title defenses by nwa WORLD jr heavyweight champ jerrelle clark in a ladders are legal match vs naphtali...and nwa florida heavyweight champion steve madison vs justice and the crowning of new nwa florida tag champs in fahrenheit 420 in a 4 way over shockwave, the untouchables and scoot andrews/antonio banks for the vacant titles that had earlier been vacated by the shane twins due to the torn bicep suffered by mike shane in their last defense vs 420 a month ago..... in addition to these great matches on top the undercard was highlighted by the BRUTAL war between toy ishikawa and navy seal in a battlearts style fight won by knockout by seal after an apsolutely enormous amount of punishment taken by both guys

Actually, I talked to Angel a few days ago and he was talking about the show as if it was still on...OG Siderman of XPWTV.com/WTFBoards.com/BlackRussianFilms.com also talked to him and posted that he said at least one of the LXW shows were still on...So I don't know what's going on...all I know is I was hoping Corino 1000 would be able to get me LXW tapes at the show...I doubt that'll happen...

From The Offices of NWA Florida

2/26/04

The St. Pete National Guard Armory will never be the same again as NWA Florida runs their first ever show in the newly renovated building on 2/28/04.

Due to circumstances beyond our control it appears that the officials of LXW are not legitimate, Ron Niemi and myself have been in negotiations with LXW for almost 5 months now to make this show come together. First off most of the top talent they promised us were not booked, then all of a sudden we started hearing from the workers that were on the show that they were in fact not booked by the LXW Offices, for example Chi Chi Cruz was supposed to be on the show and was contacted by NWA FL reps and told us no, he was never told about the Armory show and had his ticket to go straight into Miami on Saturday. LXW then started making comical demands of what they wanted out of the show, which was not fair to NWA FL fans or the promoters of NWA Florida, for example that we could not release the video footage for 6 months as they wanted first crack at releasing it, trying to make NWA Offices pay for their talent when the deal was that each promoter would be responsible for their own talent, and the lies, and twists and turns just go on from there!

Every time they made a ridiculous request or change we called them on it, and they were so embarrassed they finally said they were not coming, being caught in lies is tough and the only way to save yourself sometimes is to run and hide.

This leaves us at the following situation, we would love to have the LXW workers on the show, myself and Ron Niemi have worked too hard and too long to make this show happen only for LXW to start playing games the week before the show. We can only assume that their show in Miami is cancelled as they have no ring and most likely most of the talent has not been booked and they do not even have a ring arranged for the Miami show!

The show will go on as planned with or without the LXW roster and will feature many surprises and guests to the NWA FL ring and the fan fest will go on as planned with NWA Workers taking pictures and signing autographs with the fans!

NWA FL has been through a lot over the past few months and the loyal and devoted fans are the reason we are still here and will continue to be here.

I am also proud to announce that we have signed an agreement with the Brandon All Stars Gym right off Highway 60 and we will be running 2 shows per month in Brandon beginning 3/13, and we will return to the St Pete Armory 3/20 featuring Danny Maff and the return of Steve Corino!

With that all being said, ticket prices will change as follows!

VIP Tickets will be $ 15.00 in advance and $ 20.00 at the door

General Admission Tickets will be $ 10.00 in advance and $ 15.00 at the door.

Anyone who purchased an advance ticket already will be refunded the difference when they arrive at the show!

LXW was off the NWA FL show. I was at the LXW tonight. Like 65 people were there and no LXW tapes, Lucharesu. Still it was a really solid show though. SUPER DRAGON IS THE FUCKING MAN, and he proved it tonight. I definatly dug the insane dives. Quicksliver hit a fucking tiger star press too the outside and I marked out. It was excellent. Angel fucking broke my CZW Redefined tape cover. He got hip tossed over the rail and my tape was on the floor and it got smashed :(. Also, Shocker is a class act. He posed for pictures, and autographs after his match. He rules. Despite the small crowd LXW was awesome. I kinda liked the smaller environment. Me and friends were definatly making alot of noise. Not more than those kids though lol.

Guest Corino 1000

Barber sorry no LXW tapes. :(

But the show itself was great. Especially Super Dragon, I took a picture in his face and he ripped my camera away from me put it on the ground and went in the ring. Then Scorpio Sky comes out and gets me back my camera. :headbang:

well its easy to have that much close and personal interraction with the boys when the boys outnumber the crowd....LOL nice knowing you lxw ....btw you guys would not happen to be court bauers dad's illegitimate children would you?because i didnt think anyone other than his offspring could throw money around and burn bridges as fast and as bad as court did.

Uh dude, either way if you are in the front row you are probabley going too interact with the wrestlers especially since Super Dragon is known for doing that stuff too give him heat. I remember at PWG Pimpin in High places, some guy was cheering him or something with a soda in his hand and Dragon comes and knocks on the ground.
