The Tino Standard Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 ESPN MAY respect the wrestlers, but they have no respect for Vince and the WWE and I can't say I blame them. That would seem to be pretty accurate. Within the last year or two, they've had Austin do a SportsCenter commercial and appear on the show for an interview. They didn't portray him as a "dumb rassler" in either appearance.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 So I get why Nascar fans get upset about the redneck thing and other comments. Thing is, when you boil the NASCAR fanbase down to its core, you DO get Rednecks. It's not like it's some unfounded insult. It's possibly beginning to get dated with non redneck fans joining in (although, not really around here) but it's not like it's some slanderous and false statement.
TheFranchise Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 From the Observer Website --After Raw, Rock (who is scheduled for Raw this coming Monday in Bridgeport, CT) left for the U.K. This Monday Night on RAW, according to a promo on Smackdown, we will be treated to... drumroll please.. ... This is your life Mick Foley, hosted by The Rock and Im not kidding I think this deserves its own thread, no? ...oh hell no. I mean, Your Life Rock wasn't half bad at that time (nowadays, I'd cringe at it, so markish was I back then). Foley??? I can't see that being any good... It'll just be a love fest for Foley with a run in from Orton to actually get HEAT~!
