Hell...Austin didn't even win the blow off to the "I had Rikishi try to kill you" storyline.

But now that I've written it, in the context of the Triple H/Austin feud, that doesn't make any sense.

Nothing with HHH feuds makes sense.

 

He won all the blow offs as a heel...which is fine with me because he was really good then...and I enjoyed seeing a heel win like that.

 

But he also wins them as a face.  That ain't right.

 

The guy doesn't lose.  Even for the good of storylines.

It wasn't just that. The whole Triple H using that as momentum to turn face didn't make sense because he masterminded the whole hit Austin plan. Now if Austin had stayed face, beat Triple H for the title, and held it until the Rock returned, now that would have worked.

On-screen relationship eventually becomes real-life relationship!  HHH is gonna dump Steph soon for Stacy!  Then his push will be GONE GONE GONE because Steph is the ONLY reason why HHH isn't jobbing on Jakked!

They "pushed" Triple H into the Two Man Power Trip angle because he refused to turn face after WrestleMania. Austin had just won the belt and he wasn't going to be dropping it anytime soon so Triple H knew he would be doing the job and thus had no interest in turning face at the time.

 

Meltzer has mentioned this in the Observer many times. Triple H's refusal to go along with the storyline back then had a much more damaging effect on the product than Austin's recent tiff with Vince that had so many people up in arms. The WWF then stuck Taker/Kane in the top slots and millions of fans went fleeing from their tv sets.

I don't see why they couldn't have done some angle where Jericho complained to Vince about not having a match since Rock ran off to Hollywood so Vince puts him in a match with Rikishi or someone. Jericho of course would them complain that Rikishi was not good enough for him to wrestle.

 

Have the match, have Jericho win CLEAN and then beat up Rikishi afterwards. He can still do a run-in in the main event and cost Hogan the title to set-up their program for the follwing month. But you've built him up a little by destroying Rikishi while giving somewhat of an excuse as to why Jericho is so low on the card.

 

But apparently WWF logic says its better to keep one of their most entertaining characters and best wrestlers off the PPV so they can showcase such talents as Albert, Bradshaw, Billy & Chuck, Al Snow, Maven and Trish Stratus.

 

But getting back to the topic at hand, the Jericho promo appears to be the highlight of the show. It will be interesting to see if anything gets cut from the promo. It sounds like the only time either of the HHH's sells anything in the main event is when they are being double teamed.

 

The cruiser tag match sounds good but everything else looks like a waste of time. Why spend time on Hardcore Holly and DDP while Christian and Lance Storm are stuck on Jakked every week?

I wonder if Albert will be near naked this week like he was on last week's SD?  I haven't read anyone who attended last night's taping whether he was wearing his sexy little Austin-like shorts or not.

 

Albert and sexy can NOT go in the same sentence.  Albert naked?  Ugh...if I was a girl that would still freak me out.  Especally if he DOES have a "Prince Albert".
