Sticky Ebay situation

Recommended Posts

I recently sold 4 pairs of concert tickets on Ebay, 3 of them made it to their destination. One hasn't yet, and the concert is tomorrow. It's odd since, its one of the pairs i sent via express post. The woman didn't inform me of the tickets not arriving till yesterday ( a week after i sent them). So without trying to resolve anything she posted negative feedback and is demanding a full refund. Had she told me earlier i would have looked into the situation (is there anyway of tracking down mail?)

What to do in a situation like this? Refund her money because the post office screwed up? Refund half? And of course, theres still the possibility the tickets could show up tomorrow! Oi vey...

Express Post - what exactly is that.

Is that like the Canadian version of express mail?

I wouldn't believe her because a buyer should have:

1. notified you in advance

2. would have contacted you personally then through EBay's feedback system.

Alright, so then I'm assuming there's no way to track the shipment.

Did you keep the Express Post receipt?

Surprisngly, yes , i just managed to dig the reciept out my trash can

Check and see if there's anything that says "Tracking Code" or "Confirmation Number", something to that effect.

Send her that exact text via E-Mail, and make a point in the feedback that she lied.

If she asks, send her a photocopy of the receipt.

People are just brutal these days.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it only says that the package arrived in the woman's country on 03/02. It doesn't actually say that it was put into the woman's hands. It could have arrived in the country, but possibly lost in the mail or not even given to her.

I'm not saying that she's telling the truth. I pretty much have no idea. But C-Bacon, maybe you should hold off a little before you start calling her a liar.

EDIT: Ah well Karter, you responded right before I posted the message. Damn you for taking away the worth of my post.

Are the tickets for a specific seat? If they are and you remember the seat number/section etc, you could call the venue and ask them to check the 2 seats at some point in time. Give them the name/id of the person who bought them.

3 Situations could happen if they do check them:

1) Seats are empty. Either the tickets were lost or never delivered. Give a refund.

2) Seats have people who bought them, but were claiming never to have gotten them, no refund and you post negative feedback.

3) Seats have persons other than buyer in them, tickets were stolen, you'll still have to give refund but you could probably get your money back.

Two ways to consider how far the sender and reciever are from each other.

I recently had a friend from CA ship me a package tuesday with Express Mail, arriving earlier today and I live in FL. That isn't as far as say the North-east and South-west, but it's a long ways for mail to travel.

The other is the two live so far apart it takes forever to recieve.

That'd be a good idea . Unfortuantly, the tickets are general admission floors

I believe it was in Michigan, a mere 3-4 hours difference

In that case, you're more than likely getting screwed. Unless you wrote the address wrong.

It could have gotten confiscated at customs.

That's what I'm thinking at this point.

Yeah, I could really see the venue caring.

Just post a negative feedback on her and respond to her's in your ebay account. If you have a reasonable explanation, no one will care about one negative feedback.

Chris

I  never received the nickelback tickets...i drove up to hamilton and bought

tickets from a scalper.

i'm new to ebay and im really disappointed in this whole transaction...i've

paid you for tickets that i never received then drove up to hamilton and

paid even more for crappy seat tickets. i will go through every step

necessary through ebay or pay pal or whomever to get my money back from

you...i shouldnt have to pay for merchandise i didnt receive, and it was

your responsibility to get the tickets to me.  even if they arrive in the

mail now, obviously they are worthless to me.

either email me back or ill take this up with ebay/pay pal/my credit card.

Julie

Ugh.

Ugh is right.

Who in their right mind would go through so much trouble for Nickelback tickets?

Yeah. I'd do it for Avril, but not Nickelback...

Exactly

After checking on the package again i found this tidbit of information

2004/03/06 11:01 Successfully delivered

2004/03/02 05:29 Arrival in destination country

So it took them 4 days to send the tickets to her house after it arrived in the country. And she lives in MI. Express shipping my ass

Well isn't it only express mail until it reaches the border?

Say I send something express to Canada via the US Postal Service. It's shipped to Canada via express mail, but once it reaches the Canadian postal service they have no obligation to transfer the package at their express rate. Therefore once it's in foreign territory it becomes a standard parcel.

Right?

Ebay is great, but once in awhile - you may get into a situation like this.

Bacon, let her talk to ebay. You have proof that the tickets arrived to the destination, so she can't do anything to you.
