Beyonce, Reno Set For Pink Panther Remake

Duo joins Steve Martin...

Beyonce Knowles and Jean Reno are set for roles in the upcoming Pink Panther remake. Steve Martin will play Inspector Clouseau.

The story will have Clouseau searching for the legendary "Pink Panther" diamond ring. Reno will play Ponton, who's secretly an undercover cop assigned by the boss to keep an eye on Clouseau. Knowles is eyeing the role of Xania, a pop singer whose suddenly dead boyfriend owned the rock.

Ok good Beyonce, stay in movies like this to try furthering a potential acting career.

Stay away from roles like Lois Lane, until you gain an ounce of acting ability...if you ever do.

eh I'd say Sellers would be more likely to spin in his grave over a Dr. Strangelove remake, since that should be considered his best performance.

I was going to say Lolita as well, but that's already been remade. Besides, Kubrick's Lolita was probably much more comedic than the source material was.

His daughter is going to college and he needs some quick cash?

His cocaine habit is out of control and he needs some quick cash?

He's a big pink panther fan?

He needs some quick cash to keep some hookers from talking?

There's a ton of possibilites and most of them come back to money.

Hey don't complain about her getting roles in meaningless throw away movies at this point in her acting career. It's better than her getting roles in good movies.

Ok, who is writing and directing this???

Oh please tell me this isn't right

Shawn Levy of "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Just Married"?

And Ivan Reitman??? Reitman hasn't directed a good movie since the 90's.

Oh well, I'll give it time to grow first.

Does the Pink Panther movie have anything to do with the cartoon character? And Jean Reno seems more like he would be Inspector Closeau from the little I know about this partic. series.

...and I was planning to joke that Beyonce would ask the same question. I am filled with shame over you.

No, that's wrong. No go repent by watching the original Pink Panther movies (except for Trail of) and some of Sellers' Kubrick roles, especially Dr. Strangelove.

I'm not educated on movie history. I think there is a connection, but I don't know what it is. I know he's not chasing around a cartoon character for 90 minutes, so I am confused as to the link!

If you would have read, the Pink Panther is a diamond--so named for a flaw shaped like a panther.
