Looks like a good card to me. It always seems hard to fill in a few gaps because either all the good matches have been put with a wrestler you wanted to use for another show or all the titles have been done.

20 hasn't occured yet, and depending on how it turns out, I might have to do some shifting, but on paper Brock/Goldberg seems to be a good fit.

 

I think this card is pretty good, with 8, 10, 13, 16, and 17 all approaching ****. 5 out of 20 isn't bad. The only total crap that's on there is really short. Sure there's no Piper, Foley, etc. but you can't have everything.

 

It's really interesting because the major parts of the card revolve pretty much around the same key guys (Bret, Michaels, Savage and I guess Austin). It's a given (to me anyway) that the IC match come from either 3 or 10, but if you pick 3, that eliminates Savage/Flair, and if you pick 10, that eliminates Bret/Owen. But even if you do pick Savage/Steamboat AND Bret/Owen, then you're shafted out of Bret/Austin from 13. And just forget using Bret/Michaels from 12 because that eats up two of the best guys AND the WWF Title Match.

 

As for the WWF Title match, it's basically between 8, 12, 17, and 19, and I'm not as much as a fan of Rock/Austin as a lot of people are. Besides, using that eliminates Rock/Hogan (memorable match from a very lackluster card) as well as Bret/Austin (just as using Bret/Shawn would eliminate both Bret/Austin and Shawn/Razor). In other words, each of the 2 of the most lucrative WWF Title matches takes out TWO potential other greats. That's why I like Savage/Flair in there so much. And with Savage/Flair... that makes the other choices fall into place. With Savage gone, the IC from 10 gets in, and with 10 gone, that makes Bret/Austin the easy choice... then with Austin gone and the WWF Title gone, Hogan/Rock falls in nicely.

 

Either way I don't see how you can't go with the Tag Titles from 16. No one in the match has done anything notable, great Tag Title matches have been few and far between, and there's not much else to choose from on that card.

 

I know it's Wrestlemania season but you guys should try this for Summerslam too. I've done it before and it's damn near impossible for a few reasons:

 

1) Generally shorter cards which means fewer matches/people to choose from.

 

2) From '89-'94 Bret Hart absolutely owned Summerslam and to leave any of those matches off is a shame.

 

Just think about it- either way, either Bret/Bulldog or Bret/Owen gets left off. After the major matches, it basically comes down to the depth of the cards and a lot of Summerslams have a whole lot of crap once you eliminate the most reliable names and the title matches.
