dubq 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 I've only seen VERSUS so far - and I thought it kicked ass. I want to check out ALIVE and AZUMI next, though. I found Alive in Chinatown the other day, but that version didn't have any English subtitles, so I was out of luck. Anyone else familiar with his work? dubq 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 I've heard his name mentioned, but i cant really remember where or when. Is he any good? From what I saw in Versus, yeah. Lots of great fighting scenes mixed with comedy, gore, zombies, etc.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 It should also be noted that he was the Director for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I've heard his name mentioned, but i cant really remember where or when. Is he any good? Versus has a thin plot and is mainly all about fight scenes, gore and dark comedy, so he's good if you can enjoy movies like Versus. If you must have a solid plot in a movie to like it, then no he's not so good.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Versus is one of the best fucking movies I've ever seen. If I can find a copy of Azumi with subs that's R0 I'm picking it up. Versus has a thin plot That's an understatement. It never even names the characters
Guest Annoyed Grunt Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Alive is okay, but not even close to Versus. It has an interesting concept, but by the end it's like a live version of a tournament fighting game.
