Guest Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 I think that the Mouth of the South was the best manager. Jimmy had most of the best guys such as the Natural Disasters, Money Inc., Nasty Boys, and Honky Tonk Man.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Jim Cornette. It'd be great if they used him to get one of the OVW/HWA guys over, like Heyman is doing with Brock. I'd have Corny come back as a face, with his "hot young prospect" to feud with Heyman and Brock.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Hennan or Cornette. I disagree with you, Zack. I believe Jim HAS to be a heel. He's a born heel manager. He's a guy you love to hate.
Guest RickyB Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Jim Cornette, Bobby Heenan, Jimmy "Mouth Of The South" Hart and Paul Heyman are, too me, the greatest managers of all time. But I couldn't choose one, if I had too I guess Cornette would have to be it. It's good to see old school managers coming back, there's nothing wrong with a bit of T & A leading the Wrestlers to the ring but they never seem to get the Wrestlers over.
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 I would have liked to have seen Cornette come back with Lesnar and do all the talking for him. I miss Corny.
Guest Drury37 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 I say Paul Heyman as Paul E. Dangerously and Bobby Heenan are two of my favorite managers of all time. Thanks.
Guest swan Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Slick, not the Rev. Slick gimmick, but the original Slick gimmick that took over Freddie Blassie's stable. God he was a riot. His skinny ass took good bumps too.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Bobby Heenan ws the greatest manager ever.
Guest Some Guy Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Heenan was the best, Cornette was second, and Paul E. is 3rd.
Guest FakeRazor Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Deffinatly Heenan, probably the greatest manager EVER. I hope he's doing better nowadays. Heyman rules it too, its good to see him back in a managerial position. It looks like the days of male managers could be returning, what with Rico, Paul Heyman, and soon Arn Anderson. YAY!
Guest JHawk Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Add another vote to guys who want to see Cornette back. There are two things that always got Heyman and Cornette over. They both cut fantastic promos, obviously, but even more than that. Watch them when they're at ringside. Running around the ring, pounding the mat, taunting the crowd. It's what made Corino awesome in his ECW managerial role. The biggest problem with female managers is they're nothing but eye candy. They stand there and seem disinterested. A good manager can add something to a nothing match and something more to a good match.
Guest Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 My favorite managers are Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Jim Cornette Teddy Long Paul E. Dangerously "The Mouth Of The South" Jimmy Hart "The Doctor Of Style" Slick "Classie" Freddie Blassie The Grand Wizard Captain Lou Albano Harvey Wippleman Johnny Polo Luscious Johnny Valiant Paul Ellering Sir Oliver Humperdink Colonel Robert Parker Mr. Fuji and Harley Race.
Guest Drury37 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 How about Teddy Long I wouldn't say he was the greatest but he was pretty good back when he managed Doom.Does anyone else agree with me? Thanks.
Guest barnacles Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Female managers certainly do suck, recently I read that Tajiri came out without Tori, and got booed! The greatest female manager has to be Sherri Martell, great heel tactics, getting the sly kicks in outside the ring screaming at the fans etc. Watching an old WWF tape recently I saw Dino Bravo with a manager I had never heard of before 'Frenchie Marc' with a beret, retarded French accent, monacle, rain coat and snooty laugh-I don't think he lasted too lon though. My favourite manager was Heenan-I still laugh out loud thinking of him selling that neck injury for over a year!
Guest swan Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 My favourite manager was Heenan-I still laugh out loud thinking of him selling that neck injury for over a year! Heenan had a legit bad neck
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 My top choice would be Heenen ... but btwn. being sick and the bad neck, he wouldn't be the same Brain that everyone loved/loved to hate. So, I'd have to go with Cornette. Give him some other young guy to feud with Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Neither has to be face or heel, just have both be "tweeners" ... the legit heat btwn. Paul and Cornette would provide enough fuel to make the promos work, and if he's with someone that Brock wrestled with or against in the minors, they'd have that experience to use to have a better-than-expected match.
Guest Drury37 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 We need a manager just to build up a stable, not Vince building a stable but just a regular manager, like a Dangerous Alliance type thing or Bobby Heenan's family.I think it would be good for th bussiness if you ask me. Thanks.
Guest swan Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 How about Teddy Long I wouldn't say he was the greatest but he was pretty good back when he managed Doom.Does anyone else agree with me? Thanks. Nope. Teddy Long wasn't funny, he didn't have a good gimmick, he just reminded me of a overgrown mole. He was always lame in my book, not a good mouthpiece.
Guest swan Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 I think that the Mouth of the South was the best manager. Jimmy had most of the best guys such as the Natural Disasters, Money Inc., Nasty Boys, and Honky Tonk Man. What about the Hart Foundation or Adrain Adonis? What about the First Family down in Memphis?
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 The WWF had some great one back in the late 80's and early 90's. Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan, Slick were all terrific heel managers in the WWF. Elizabeth ruled too. Bill Alfonso is still my all time favorite though.
Guest Drury37 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Man Swan why do you hate me?Slick was a great dude and it was awesome when he used to dance. Thanks.
Guest The Great Wesuke Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Watching an old WWF tape recently I saw Dino Bravo with a manager I had never heard of before 'Frenchie Marc' with a beret, retarded French accent, monacle, rain coat and snooty laugh-I don't think he lasted too lon though. Frenchy Martin was his name, and he was a wrestler in the WWF before he managed Bravo, I think they actually tag teamed a bit. When he retired he became Bravo's manager for a few years. He did contribute very little though, and Hart was a much better manager for Bravo. My pick is Heenan, with Slick as a VERY close second.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Bobby the Brain Heenan.......as a Commentator more, as a manager id go with Jimmy Hart ot Slickster
Guest swan Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Man Swan why do you hate me?Slick was a great dude and it was awesome when he used to dance. Thanks. I don't hate ya, I just think Teddy Long was lucky his ugly bald ass got to manage for a national company.
Guest Drury37 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Alright, but you are also the same person that there was no way I remember watching the first ever episode of WWF Monday Night Raw because I was only 5 years old. Thanks.

Thanks. I really don’t care. I just know from my a college course in memory (Pysch 300 level course)that what you claim is rare. You must be one of the few that has been blessed the w/ extra-ordinary skill to retain memories from when you were young. Good for you, I hope pro-wrestling wasn’t the only thing you decided you could remember
Guest Drury37 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I must be because I remember a lot from when I was young very well.By the way im only 14 so it wasn't that long ago.I could tell you about what I did in nursery school and what TV Shows I used to watch and when they were on and crazy stuff like that. Thanks.
