The hhh vs. hogan match at backlash

Jericho/Y2J, now that's just silly. You make it seem like I just edited it to cover my mistake. ;-)

Guest What?!

Hmmm, HHH probably won't want to job, and I don't think Hogan wants to lose to a heatless champion, so...

NO CONTEST Via Jericho and Angle.

"NO CONTEST Via Jericho and Angle."

That is a viable option. However, with Rock out til at least June and with the stip that if HHH loses he becomes exclusive property of SD, I think we may see a title change this sunday. Plus Taker is getting his promised title shot at Judgement Day (He was supposed to face HHH at first and now he's going to upset Austin, you watch) and a Taker vs Hogan match (although it'll suck) will do a better buy rate than HHH vs Taker. I think because of the lack of star power now that Rock's out for awhile, we'll see HHH feuding with Angle/Jericho on SD with Hogan bouncing between shows til he gets stale or gets hurt. Whichever comes first.

Hopefully they don't rehash the Uncensored 95 (?) ending with Hogan/Vader/Flair in the strap match.  I can see it now:  Jericho runs in and gets pedigreed and pinned, and the ref allows the win to stand.  Neither Hogan or HHH have to job.  Gotta love Stephanie.

My prediction:

The nWo is being kept under control to one show (which is pretty silly for a stable as well-known as heels as they are). HHH's face turn is a bust, because they teased it for so long nobody cared when it was delivered.

Obviously the answer is for an nWo run-in that doesn't directly end the match (have Hogan hulk up or whatever and beat down both Hall and Pac) but results in him being too worm down to finish Triple H.

Have HHH join the nWo, start a SmackDown side of the organization, and spraypaint that new shiny title. At least, I hope they take it that far. I miss the WCW/NWA title, and I'm sure HHH would enjoy being the only guy to hold a belt, ala Austin and the Smoking Skulls. The title run can get the nWo more over again, and when it's done they can just bring back the two older belts.

I'd like to see Austin and HHH both win because HHH only seems to get motivated by Mick Foley or Austin.

It seems like he's lost his edge since he's been back. His match with Jericho at WM was horrible, but it's not like he outrightly sucks or something. Triple H is an awesome wrestler. He just needs to be a heel again or something before he loses all heat. He can't connect with the fans as a face. His act right now is lame and it shows in his recent promos as well. The only way I could see to fix it is to turn him heel and have him drop the title. How can he manage to "accomplish" all of this in one match? Well, If I were booking it...

Have HHH completely dominating Hogan and hit the pedigree. That's when Hogan kicks out, and HHH freaks out. Hogan does his Hulking Up routine, and cleans house. HHH gets knocked outside of the ring while Hogan is in the ring having a hulkamania rampage.

In comes Jericho with a steel chair. What should happen is HHH realizing that he cant overcome the power and glory of hulkamania and sides with Jericho to take Hogan out. Only to fail. Hulkamania will prevail. Lawler and JR will wail... but in the process, you get HHH away from the title for now and restore his heat. The Power and Glory of Hulkamania vs The Decade of Destruction shall follow.

why in the flying fuck are you people talking about giving hogan the title?  even if he is a shadow of his former self, trips is still light years ahead of hogan.  triple h's interviews are boring?  when did hogan cut a single entertaining promo since returning to the wwf?  at least trips can be funny.  triple h can't wrestle like he used to?  no, but he's an average wrestler at least.  did you guys SEE the tag match on smackdown?  hogan couldn't even take a back bump right.  you people are all letting this hatred of triple h cloud your judgment.  hogan as a champion, quality-wise, would be infinitely worse.  trips set the bar so high for himself 2 years ago that we say he sucks everytime he has a mediocre match.  hogan, by any standard, sucks.  he's probably the least capable wrestler on the roster right now.  i DO NOT want to see a hogan/undertaker match of a thousand rest holds.  if you guys are getting pissed from ODing on trips, can you imagine how bad the television would get if hogan was on both shows, cutting his 80s promos and stinking up the ring with this shitty wrestling?  the thought makes me want to blow my brains out.

Now that Hogan is the champ, the "what next?" question is more obvious than ever.  Looking at the match, there was interference by two different people, Jericho and Undertaker, to make it obvious that neither man was willing to job clean.  Now that Hogan is champ, what are they going to do? Feed Jericho to him and push Jericho down even further (and how does this Jericho/Hogan feud fit into the Hogan/Taker match at Judgment Day)? That's the most obvious, but then what? Are they really going to keep Hogan as champion until The Rock's return? Is Hogan willing to job to anyone? Does the title mean more now because it's on the most over guy in the company, or less because it switched hands after only a month?

I'm afraid I don't have the answers to any of these.  I doubt the booking team or anyone at WWF does.  I also doubt the booking team is concerned at all.

I just commented on this on the other thread (Bashlash thoughts), what they almost have to do seeing as how that last match was booked is make a fatal four way for the title at the ppv w/HHH, Hogan, Jericho, and Taker. There is a major issue there with HHH and Taker which needs to be resolved, which can't be resolved unless they were in a match like this (assuming neither wins the belt before the next ppv). Sans with Jericho and Hogan.

Another scenario, seeing as this is done completely transitionally and/or just for the nostalgiac "moment"(don't worry guys, Hogan won't have the belt for long) is that Hogan could lose the belt to Taker, HHH, or Jericho as soon as this week sometime. From there they could, if Taker gets the belt, go with the seperate Jericho/Hogan and Taker/HHH matches at the next ppv, with HHH winning back the title then.

I think one way or another, we will see Hunter with the belt back by the end of Judgement Day.

I'll tell you why I don't have so much of a problem with what happened tonight...it's good for business since it made all of the overwhelming fans appeal for Hogan right now happy campers. Basically they delivered in the story they were clearly playing up. Very similar to Angle winning the title from Austin in Pittsburgh in part due to the 9/11 tragedy and partly because of the story with the match being in his hometown, etc. It just makes sense, even if you don't like what happened.

This is what WCW should have done with Flair at some point, and you could say in a sense (be it very played down and horrible booked) that they let Flair have one more run when he won the title from Jarrett in 2000. Clearly it isn't the same, but they should have had Flair in this same role, even when Russo left town and WCW was starting to really turn to nothing and eventually got sold. It's just fitting for Flair to be able to have some sort of full circle culmination deal in WCW, just as it is for Hogan to have the same thing in the WWF. It's too bad Flair never got it though quite like this.

If the WWF does go with Taker-Hogan and Jericho-HHH in seperate singles matches for Judgment Day, it would not be smart for business. That means we have to sit through a main event that is going to be f'n awful and having Jericho-HHH again means either two things which aren't neccessarily good.........HHH losing or Jericho losing....again. HHH shouldn't lose to Jericho at least right now since it would really hurt his heat following this loss to Hogan. Jericho shouldn't lose again to HHH for obvious reasons....he's due for payback.
