Guest Ray Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Reading through John McAdam's tape lists and I see this: BRET HART v VADER from 1997- Steve Austin interferes, and Vader gets the win. BRET HART v MANKIND / MICK FOLEY from Shotgun Saturday Night, 1997. Anyone remember these matches? I've never heard of Bret vs Foley. Comments on these anyone? Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I remember (and have) both of those matches, but I haven't watched them in awhile. Bret vs. Vader was decent. I remember being pissed about Bret losing, because he was my favorite wrestler. Towards the end of the match, Bret and Vader were brawling outside of the ring. The referee was distracted by Vader (I think he was trying to use the steel steps...I'll have to check the tape to make sure), while Bret was getting back to his feet in the aisle way. Austin runs out from the back, clips Bret's leg, follows up with a Stunner, then makes his way back to the locker room. Vader throws Bret back into the ring and hits the Vader Bomb for the 1-2-3. Bret vs. Mankind was decent as well. The match took place in a nightclub, which I didn’t like. The match ended in a DQ when either Owen or Austin (I can’t remember for sure right now) interfered while Bret had Foley in the Sharpshooter. Like I said, Bret-Mankind was decent, but I didn't like it too much because of the nightclub setting and the DQ finish. Overall, I wouldn’t really go out of my way to get those two matches. I’d say that they’re worth watching once or twice, but that’s about it.
