My boss is a mark!

Guest Wheat Cracker Experience

So, talking to my boss, an eighty-year-old woman, about sports in general, she happens to mention going to an old Bruno Sammartino match at MSG.  So I mention that I'm a wrestling fan and talk about when I was at WM X and seeing the ladder match, and she's just sitting there, mouth agape, while I'm describing some of the moves.  I realize that she is completely believing this as though I were giving an account of a basketball game or such.  So then I tell her about Montreal, and she says, "I can't believe I never saw anything about that in the newspapers!"

Gosh, how do you take orders from someone who marks out to Montreal?

Technically we are all marks, some are just smarter than others....She's 80 fucking years old, she probably doesn't remember shit, and you are gonna have a hard time taking orders from a mark?  Give it a rest man, my boss is just as bad but I could care less

My boss is worse,as she doesn't have any interest in it.

Normally it doesn't bother me, but when me and two workmates were booking a night off (we work in a nightclub) to attend the May 3rd WWF show in Birmingham, she called us gay, wrestling gay and threatened not to let us have the night off!

Before we became smarks most of us were probably what I like to call "Half-Marks". A half-mark doesnt know the inside political, internet, stuff, but still knows a hell of a lot about wrestling. We knew wrestlers' previous identities(I knew the Repo Man was Smash back when I was 8,but I didnt know his name was Barry Darsow...see?half-markism).A half-mark can pretty much predict the out come of a match.(we all knew who would win the Royal Rumble etc.)

I understand what he was trying to say. We might not have known backstage info but we were still better at all of our friends at predicting what was going to happen, and saying Hey wait a minute that Fake Diesel is Isaac Yankem!

My number one pre smart moment was when I called Tatanka really joining Million Dollar Man instead of Lex Luger. I think I was 10 or 12 at the time and in the eyes of my friends I was the MAN.
