Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted February 10, 2002 The WWF is supposedly trying to build up the Cruiserweight division, since it was a big part of WCW winning ratings in their winning period. What all wrestlers do you think the WWF should try and sign for this division. I'd like to see guys like Elix Skipper, Kaz Hayashi, Little Guido, Kid Kash, Nova (Who would be a perfect partner for the Hurricane), Chris Daniels, and Low-Ki
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 10, 2002 I hope the WWF isn't talking out of it's ass again. I think the perfect time to re-start the CW division is when the WWF splits. Let Ric Flair's side have the crusierweights. I don't know how about crusierweights in the indy scene, but I would hire back Elix Skipper.
Guest The Shockmaster! Report post Posted February 10, 2002 I'll believe the WWF is serious about a Cruiserweight division when I actually see a steady presence of cruiserweights on WWF programming. They have been blowing smoke up our asses on this subject for way too long.
Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted February 10, 2002 Is'nt saying that the WWF is going to build the Cruiserweight division a monthly thing from JR that never goes anywhere? I'll believe it when I see it.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 10, 2002 It won't happen, unless Nash wants someone to squash.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 10, 2002 Don't believe the hype.. Ross has been saying a big push is coming for the cruiserweight division for YEARS now
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted February 10, 2002 Yeah. Rey Mysterio could come into the WWF and beat Kevin Nash on a Smackdown and instantly give credit to the cruisers until he gets squashed on a PPV three nights later or something...
Guest FakeRazor Report post Posted February 10, 2002 I won't buy this rumor until I see it. The WWF has NEVER followed through with their crusier division.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Report post Posted February 11, 2002 its a swerve to keep us all watching. I think there was a thread on how the different ropes in wcw vs. wwf made the cruisers more exciting in wcw which means that the current ropeset isn't good for cruisers...not good for a division
Guest Flair5000 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 The only chance is if Flair's WWF is a more wrestling style WWF. At the moment most over cruiserweights in America like Kidman and Chavo can't even get on Heat.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I think once the split happens the division will really take off. I would build the division around Jerry Lynn once he returns and let Dean Malenko be the teacher.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted February 11, 2002 The WWF already runs something close to a cruiser division on Jakked/Metal and on Heat, where there were a couple of light-weight matches last night (Hurricane vs. Scotty 2 Hotty, Storm vs. Tajiri). It's not that big a stretch for them to move it up a level and have some matches on their main shows.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Hiring Kid Kash wouldn't be too bad of an idea either? He is one of the top cruiserweights in the world and his matches in ECW were all solid, no matter of who he was working with. I think he went well with C.W. Anderson.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 The WWF won't give time to the crusierweights. They could have a good division, but it involves wrestling. Unless they make the whole CW division "Sports Entertainment". And that's a bad idea. Let the CWs wrestle!
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted February 11, 2002 "Hiring Kid Kash wouldn't be too bad of an idea either? He is one of the top cruiserweights in the world and his matches in ECW were all solid, no matter of who he was working with. I think he went well with C.W. Anderson." Really? Kash is a top Cruiswerweight in the world? I can name at least 30 Lightweights better than Kash. Hell, at the end of WCW, these people were on top of him in ability: Shane Helms Shannon Moore Kaz Hayashi Jamie Noble Jason Jett Rey Misterio Jr. Billy Kidman AJ Styles Christopher Daniels Mike Modest So what makes Kash a top lightweight in the world? Is it is ability to do a bunch of highspots in any order that don't make any sense or is it his keen sense of psychology that he brings to every match? Tim, thinking that the words "WWF" and "Cruiwerweights" will never be in a sentence except "The WWF will never have a Cruiswerweight Division."
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 What happened to Jason Jett? I remember him getting over in the last days of WCW. Was he sent to OVW or HWA?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Umm......CruiserWeights? WWF? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I believe he went to HWA. That's where most of the Cruisers went.
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted February 11, 2002 "What happened to Jason Jett? I remember him getting over in the last days of WCW. Was he sent to OVW or HWA?" He is rotting away down in HWA along with Shannon Moore and Jamie Noble. Tim, wondering if it is worse to be rotting away in HWA or rotting away in the WWF. Guest Invader3k Report post Posted February 11, 2002 The WWF has never been serious about pushing the Cruiserweights, and never will be as long as people like Stephanie are in charge of writing the TV shows. The most Cruiserweight wrestling you will ever see is on the B and C shows (Jakked, Heat, etc).
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I'm glad the crusierweights on in HWA. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see them on TV, but not getting squashed like they probably.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I'd like to see Tony Mamaluke, as well. That kid's a freakin' bump machine, yo.
Guest Canadian Gangsta Report post Posted February 12, 2002 If the WWF does give the Cruiserweight Division a chance, a guy I would definitely bring in is American Dragon. He's just SO awesome. Really good on the mat, and just, overall he rules. But the WWF obviously wasn't that high on him beings that they dropped him from his developmental deal...but he's still really really good. Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Too bad that the non-heavyweight division does not get any tv anymore! What I mean by this is the fact that neither Tajeri nor X-Pac have defended their titles on Raw recently. I wonder who, if anybody from the indy tryouts will get a chance to shine on WWF, I wishing AJ Styles gets a shot.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 I'd like to see Tony Mamaluke, as well. That kid's a freakin' bump machine, yo. Tony Mamaluke rules all dude. Him and Guido were the shit in ECW and they would rule in the WWF as well. I doubt we'll ever see it though.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Jason Jett's the fucking man. I'd like to see Jason Jett vs. Marc Mero. It would never happen, but hey, I'd mark-out for it. Both men can work (well, Mero COULD, at least), and I'm a mark for both, so...yeah... I don't see why they couldn't bring Jett up now. He's a veteran (I read somewhere he's been wrestling since he was 15, and he's, like, 28 now), has great charisma in the ring, and got over with a dead WCW audience every week he wrestled. Guest ])r. ])eath Report post Posted February 22, 2002 You know, I am really a big mark for Lucha Libre wrestling and crusierweights, but I can see why Vince McMahon didn't give them a chance in the WWF. Most of the people who watch wrestling, don't care about that kind of shit. They just wanna watch the Rock make fun of someone & Austin drink beer. We (the people on these boards and such) are the ones in the minority. I, personally, would love a new crusierweight division. I say wait until after the split though, don't start building it now, then split and go from there. Fuck that. Here is a few that come to mind: Mike Modest Christopher Daniels EZ Money Kid Kash TAKA Taijiri Jerry Lynn Little Guido Super Crazy Kidman Christian Blitzkreig Antifoz Del Norte Kaz Hayashi Rey Misterio Jr. Chavo Guerrero Jr. Dean Malenko (He could for awhile) Ultimo Dragon (Heard that he was coming back) Great Sasuke Tiger Mask IV Jushin Liger Essa Rios Juventud Guerrero Jeff Hardy X-pac Psicosis That is at least 20, so that could make a good division. With as much money as Vince McMahon has, none of them are out of the question.

I think there was a thread on how the different ropes in wcw vs. wwf made the cruisers more exciting in wcw which means that the current ropeset isn't good for cruisers...not good for a division Agreed. Shit like "The WWF is going to split" and "We're starting up a cruiserweight division and honest to God going to give it a major push!" are lies that the WWF spread to keep us off their case with the pipedream that things will eventually get better.... Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted February 22, 2002 I think putting Christian in the CW division would hurt him more then help since he's been wrestling no one but heavyweights(with the exception of the Hardys) for over 3 years now. I think he'd be better served to stay in the heavyweight scheme of the programs.
Guest Risk Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Vince recessitated WCW just so HE could slit it's throat. HE wanted to destroy it, and ECW to a lesser extent. I don't trust him, he owes WRESTLING fans a lot for putting us through "Sports Entertainment". I miss WCW, Shane gave it such a great and cool look, it could have been great. Now we have Shane Helms as a character who is clearly a recycled Nova. Former ECW champions buried. Booker T made to look like a joke. RVD becoming one of the WWF's GENERIC babyfaces. And Stephanie tv... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
