Guest glennsoe Report post Posted April 5, 2004 The Raw brand house shows drew well this weekend, with them doing about 7,000 fans on 4/2 in Hildalgo, TX for about $220,000 at the box. It was a sell out and was their best crowd ever in the building. Management was said to be very happy about it backstage. Despite what the Mexican press said, I was told that the 4/3 show in Monterrey, Mexico did about 11,500 fans for about $450,000 at the box office. 4/4 in Laredo dif about 5,000 fans for about $150K. There was a Spanish TV crew at the Hildalgo show doing a feature on WWE. I am not sure what outlet they were from. Val Venis was worked into the mix at the house shows as a heel this weekend. Last night, they started him out as a face and then he turned heel on Rhyno. I don’t know if that bodes for a change on TV, but I am sure at this point Val would take anything they offered. Chris Jericho and Christian continue to get rave reviews internally for their work on the house show matches, as do Triple H and Chris Benoit. Both of those bouts get praised by management every weekend from what I hear. The company is also happy with Shelton Benjamin’s work and his star is definitely on the rise in WWE. There was a tornado warning at the Laredo show yesterday. I heard that it killed the power for a short time. After they got it back, they lost the ability to play music and dim lights for the matches from what a few people told me, so they just had to pretty much power through the second part of the card. credit; pwinsider.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WWE has several new books slated for release in the coming months.
