Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Hi. With Napster gone, there are dozens of other sites to download free music. I've tried Morpheus but they suck now, and MP3.com has a subscription. So, what is the best site to download freemusic?
Guest TUS_02 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I've been partial to Direct Connect. It's sort of like Hotline, but I find it much easier to use. You can find everything you need, apps, movies, mp3s, etc... plus the DLing speed is pretty consistant.
Guest TUS_02 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 First, join a server (Click connect, then Public, then choose) then when you join the server, click someones name and you'll download their list. Should be pretty simple from there, unless the list you DLed is retarded
Guest Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Everytime I try to connect, I am unable to. Also, I am unable to search.
Guest razazteca Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 ZeroPaid go to this website for the best P2P programs
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Audiogalaxy: just download the program and follow the instructions. I was one of the first people using audiogalaxy and it's always rocked.
Guest Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Awww...I tried to download at Kaza-Lite but it said I was unable to download. Any other sites?
Guest Flyboy Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Hmmm... I've been using mostly KaZaa and AudioGalaxy lately.
Guest Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 WinMX Grokster Blubster These are the programs I use. I also had FreeWire, a Limewire client, but it sucks and stalls a lot. At least on my comp it does. I believe it to be a resource hog. Has an internal music player, but it gets choppy and buggy at times, along with the main program. In fact, I just now removed it from my comp. WinMX also takes up your resources, if you leave the window open all the time. But it still has plenty of people and you should have no problem getting what you need. No internal player. Somewhat similar to the old Napster interface. Grokster has a huge number of users, and their main app is a a clone of the old Morpheus, complete with an all purpose multi-media player. Has plenty of people and again, you should be able to get what you need. I often get a perfect download. In fact, if you have this, there is absolutely no need for KaZaa, as the two use very similar designs. Is ad-supported though. Blubster, which I believe is pretty much new, works good. Has a small user base, but if you have a decent connection you should be able to d/l plenty of music in a session....in fact, that's all it does; It's only a music file finder and has no other media support. Has an internal player though. Only problem I find, aside from the small number of users, is the way it uploads stuff from the folders you select for sharing. It never remembers your previous shared songs, and every time you log on to the program, it takes some amount of time to re-upload your shared files. If you share a lot of files, it's a pain. One pop-up when you open the program, and if you have a firewall you may have to tweak it to allow Blubster to connect. I highly recommend it. If you d/l and try a lot of these programs, like I do, I suggest getting Ad-Aware to remove components (Gator and others) which may be placed on your system, as most P2P programs are loaded with the stuff...Just my advice.
Guest starvenger Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 I switched to KaZaA when Morpheus switched their GUI. Their new one sucks shit. And judging by the number of people on KaZaA now, I'm not alone here. Audiogalaxy is pretty good as well.
